Justin Fargas vs. the #31 ranked Rush Defense (1 Viewer)

Its week 2 of the fantasy playoffs and Justin Fargas will explode on the Rams, who have a horrible run D and our playing on a short week.

discuss...

I've thought about him and taking a chance, but I can't seem to drum up enough courage to do it.

Usually when I take a chance on someone it backfires on me. i.e. Arlen Harris, Mo Morris, L. Tomlinson...

I'd like to read arguments for Fargas as well.

The run defense of the Rams has been dreadful this season, and is currently ranked 31st in the NFL with an average of 154.8 yards on the ground per game. The Bears used a balanced ground attack to exceed that average with 172 yards rushing last week. Thomas Jones had 76 yards on 11 carries, and Cedric Benson added 16 attempts for 64 yards. Defensive tackles La'Roi Glover (32 tackles, 4 1/2 sacks) and Jimmy Kennedy (33 tackles) posted just one tackle apiece. Outside linebacker Brandon Chillar (49 tackles, 2 sacks) was busy on the next level of defense, and ended with six tackles. The Rams will be without Chillar's counterpart on the weak side, Pisa Tinoisamoa, who suffered his second broken hand of the season in Monday's loss to Chicago.

I played DJ Hackett and Galloway over him. Have not seen enough good out of him. He isnt putting up the points. I dont care if it was VS Indy...Its Fargas

Or the flip side (hopefully :) ) is that Fargas is just what the Rams rushing defense needs to look better.

ReShard Lee has been the short yardage guy a number of times since Jordan went out. They also hand off to Crockett (the FB) in those situations too.

One of those could be a good gamble if you're desparate and TDs are prominent in your scoring.

Not sure he will get enough chances to run... Raiders can't be able to sustain an offensive attack long enough to make a RB useful.

St. Louis is giving up 154.8 yards per game, 31st in the NFL, and is surrendering 5.0 yards per carry.Edgerrin James of Arizona, Frank Gore of San Francisco (twice), DeAngelo Williams of Carolina, Maurice Morris of Seattle, Larry Johnson of Kansas City, LaDainian Tomlinson of San Diego, Noah Herron of Green Bay and Mike Bell of Denver have all broken 100 yards on the Rams.James and Kevin Jones of Detroit have had games in the 90s.The Rams have given up 15 runs of 20 yards or more, tied with Cleveland for the most in the league.

For what its worth...........Crockett may not be stealing any carries from Fargas......

from Rotoworld..........

Raiders FB Zack Crockett missed practice Thursday with a sore heel.

He'll be added as questionable on Friday. Crockett did not receive a carry last week after it appeared he had emerged as a key player in Oakland's running back committee. His status is uncertain for Sunday.

I would have to bench Chester Taylor to play Fargas. I was considering it because of Chester's ribs - but it now looks like Chester should be ok for Sunday...........

I can't bench a semi-healthy Taylor that's playing for Fargas no matter how TASTY the match-up is..........

Been trying to talk him up on my radio spots the past three weeks. Been anxiously awaiting this matchup. I was targeting Jordan midseason before the injury specifically because of his playoff matchups.

heads up sharks.

its now or never for fargas.

a great game here... could make fargas dynasty worthy.

a big game here and the spin for 2007 begins with me.

I can't believe I've got to roll with Fargas in a playoff game...

:closes eyes and crosses fingers for luck emoticon:

In my opinion over the years this is the classic playoff panic move. It almost always makes you cry the next day. If you have a regular starter that you are considering benching for this BUM, consider yourself warned. :coffee:

Yeah, injuries are forcing me into it. It's either this or one of the Detroit guys. But yeah, I agree...nobody should be benching a regular starter not playing the Vikings or Ravens for him.

What if your regular starter has been TJ?

risk vs reward.fargas will get you 5 points or he could blow up and get you 22...if your have kevin jones, cedric houston, travis henry or ron dayne...i think you have to go w/ fargas

Same here. With waivers now being locked since the playoffs started and only having 2 of 6 RBs playing this week (McGahee, Fargas - Portis, KJ, Maroney, Norwood), I have little choice but to go with Fargas.

Assumed in my statement was the fact that your regular starter is STARTING today.
He is...THAT's what makes this a tough call!
That is tough. There are definitely quesiton marks around TJ regarding injury and Benson. I still say you go with TJ. He has been part of what has gotten here. But, this isn't exactly the situation that I am referring to. I meant if you have a starter that has been in your lineup most the year and is healthy, you don't overreact and bench him for a "Fargas" type player. Your situation is a little different, good luck

Well, picking up the Rams and Arizona Ds was the only good move I made this weekend. Unfortunately, my opponent outscored me with the Steelers and Pats defenses because of the ineptitude of Weinke and Carr.
