I love the landing spot. Cam should attract plenty of attention from the defense. My main concern is that besides Benjamin who are your weapons? Double cover Benjamin and then Cam beats you? DeAngelo isn't a world beater, I'll let him tear me for 100 yards if it means limited Benjamin (assuming Benjamin does become a threat).

He has Greg Olsen, Jerricho Cotchery, and Jason Avant to throw to that are veterans. He also has the youngsters Underwood, King, and McNutt, along with Pilares and some UDFA's hoping to make the final team. Cam has to get his timing down with all of these new guys (except maybe Olsen), but I think overall the Panthers are stronger at WR this year than they were last year.

The first 10 yards are the most important IMO and Benjamin had 10 yard splits of 1.66 and 1.62 - at the bottom of all WR's at the combine. For comparison, Evans' splits were 1.57 and 1.59.

The guy from rotoworld obviously didn't watch the end of the year. They needed a legit red zone threat.Forget the horrid goal line performance in the playoffs against SF. DeAngelo and Stewart had 0 rushing TDs of 10 or less yards. In the last 9 regular season games Tolbert had 2 and Newton has 3 goal line TDs. So, no they weren't really punching it in the end zone via the run last year.

I could easily see Benjamin with 8 TDs. They had no credible end zone receiving threat. Even Olsen over his career averages around 5 TDs per year. He isn't Gronk or Graham, heck he's not even. A Rudolph.

Newton was the best red zone threat last year, hence the decision to draft Benjamin. It was blatantly obvious against SF that the were able to get to the red zone, but had no end zone threats. They will use him a lot.

He has the makings to be the most productive rookie WR this year.

Funny, I think he's the mostly likely first round BUST.

He's terribly raw. Had one good year of college production, that's it. And while he landed with a good QB, he's also going to be expected to be their #1 WR from week 1. Plus his speed is nothing to write home about. This is a slow Calvin Johnson without the football smarts.

I'm avoiding at all costs.

Our number one receiver is Greg Olsen. Plus we will have two pass catching tight ends on the field on a lot of plays. So he isn't going to have that weight on his shoulders. He is expected to be a red zone and 3rd down threat from week one. His 40 time is being way overblown. And as for his smarts everything I have heard from camp is he is plenty football smart. Not sure where you guys even get some of the stuff you do.

Well sure he's raw we all know that. But that isn't the same as stupid. And some of those interceptions were on his late throwing QB.

Kelvin Benjamin - WR - Panthers
Panthers first-round pick Kelvin Benjamin revealed on the Ross Tucker Podcast that he currently weighs 245 pounds.
He weighed 240 at the Combine and 242 at Florida State's Pro Day. Benjamin is a truly massive human being at 6-foot-5 even, with left tackle-like 34 7/8-inch arms and 10 1/4-inch hands. He projects as Carolina's go-to red-zone target right away, though we're skeptical how many passes Benjamin will end up catching. He could be a 40-catch, eight-touchdown sort of producer in year one.
