wasnt someone in some thread sayign since he istn in NJ anymore that his trouble is over? geez
I said it above in this one.It was reported that he left NJ for good to get away from the bad influence of those he grew up with - apparently he should have left his old brain behind as well.
Dirty Jersey can suck you back in...at any moment.

Question: If Britt is not cleared to come back and ends up on a PUP or something, can he serve a suspension during that time or would he have t be on PUP for 6 weeks and then come back and serve the suspension? If its the latter, he could theoretically wash his whole season.
This is what I'm worried about.

Need to make a stickied thread named ARRESTED and just keep all this crap in there.

Back to Britt...what a ####### tool. Out the league soon, cant believe it has happened already

I am thinking this. He should be low. Anyone know how long his suspension will be? Is he up for the entire season this time?
My guess is probably 4 games at least, given Goodell met with Britt and told him to stay out of trouble. However, it wouldn't surprise me if it was longer. My question is, Britt was probably going to start slow anyway, given his knee issues. If Britt gets put on PUP, can he be credited with serving his suspension? Either way, I wasn't counting on Britt to be a big contributor the first 6 games anyway, so hopefully he won't miss more than the first 6-8 games. I can't believe this dude got arrested again. I won't touch this moron in any of my dynasty leagues anymore.
I believe he escaped a penalty last year because the lockout was happening. This is like Britt handing Gooddell a "do over" card. So, this one may be lengthy (6 game variety). Question: If Britt is not cleared to come back and ends up on a PUP or something, can he serve a suspension during that time or would he have t be on PUP for 6 weeks and then come back and serve the suspension? If its the latter, he could theoretically wash his whole season.
If he's suspended for a substantial period, why would they bother putting him on PUP?

He's just misunderstood, he grew up in the ghetto and this is how those people act when they grow up.

***the logic used in the Dez Bryant thread***

Nothing to worry about. If he's facing a suspension on top of being but on the PUP they simply won't put him on the PUP.Quite frankly this DUI is not a big deal to me. What's the worst case, a few game suspension? For a player with a shaky knee(s) not trying to push to make it for the start of the regular season and getting a few weeks extra rest is not exactly the worst thing in the world.

:goodposting:
I am stacked in that league so we might be in trouble: Stafford, Mathews, Calvin, Julio, Green, Nicks, GrahamSorry in advance
That sounds like a league with 5th graders in it...you will do just fine.

I'm going to bump Nate Washington and Jared Cook more than Wright for redrafts.
Correct
Or maybe bump Nate and Damian. I'm a little reluctant to expect the emergence of Jared Cook for the third season running

Forgive my ignorance on this one, I simply can't remember. Has Britt EVER been suspended for anything he's been arrested for? I see he's missed plenty of games, but I think those were all from injuries.
No. He would have been suspended last fall but because of the union dissolving and the collective bargaining contract being voided last summer, Goodell ended up not suspending anyone for what they did during that time. He had two pretty serious incidents in the summer so he would have been suspended. Whether or not Goodell will go down harder on him though this time because he did get off last time, or whether he will go easier because technically he has never been suspended, is anyone's guess. My guess is that it will be a two game suspension. I don't think DUI is often punished more severely than that unless it is maybe a third infraction. Most of his 8 arrests are not really serious (the most serious were when he tried to evade police and when he tried to tamper with evidence (smashing up the pot cigar). What is most concerning is that the seriousness of his arrests seems to be increasing steadily, and the number is not at all slowing down.

In dynasty, hopefully his owners do overreact and dump him in any leagues I'm in. Is 8 arrests any worse than 7 as far as the big picture? The 2012 season represents a minimal fraction of his career both before and after this incident, considering his health issues. You take this guy knowing full well he ends up missing chunks of time in a season or two moving forward, and hope he's a dominant WR the rest of the time. Brandon Marshall II style.

I have lucked out in that league with investing in future picks and having them turn into gold. Actually pretty competitive group that will be going on our 12th year. In 12 years we have had only 2 owner changes. Just lucky with free agent pickups and future draft pick placement.

Thank you for your vote of confidence...means the world to me.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press (in discussing Mikel Leshoure) the suspension does not stack on top of the pup list, they can be served at the same time, so if Britt were put on PUP and received say a 4 game suspension he'd still be eligible to play when he came off of PUP week 6. Don't know for a fact this is accurate, but that's what he said about Leshoure here:

Traded him and my 1st in a dynasty league for Ray Rice earlier this off season
Nominate for trade of the year.
I'll go out on a limb and call that the best trade of the year right now. LOL
I wish I could say I offered it. I almost turned it down because we have a salary cap for keepers in that league. Salaries are based on the previous year's performance so Britt's was really low while Rice's was really high...
