Freedom FriesI'm with Obama. It's OK if you're 12 or under. But I kind of hate ketchup on everything.
I'm a mayo/aioli guy. I'm not averse to ketchup being adulterated into a better/more complex sauce. Like a remoulade or cocktail sauce. But ketchup on it's own is a one dimensional sugar bomb that improves nothing it touches.Freedom Fries
Yep, but tomatoes roasted and sliced or diced yes please.I haven't put ketchup on a hot dog since I was a kid but the idea doesn't gross me out. Seeing someone put ketchup on eggs bothers me.
I'm actually for people putting the wrong ingredients on their food. More of the right stuff left for me.The great thing about a hot dog is the many different ways it can be served.
I say to hell to people who try to bully the rest of society into thinking there is only one acceptable way to eat them and miss out on the heaven that is hot dogs served a million different ways.
My wife does this. It causes me physical pain.Seeing someone put ketchup on eggs bothers me.
You'd like me.I'm actually for people putting the wrong ingredients on their food. More of the right stuff left for me.
I'm with Ivan here. This is clearly a trap meant to draw out and eliminate some of the more unsavory posters. And I'm all for it.People voting "maybe" or "always" are obviously trolls and should get clipped under the new moderation policy.
Excellent post.I've never understood this type of food snobbery. A hot dog is not some delicacy that will be tarnished by adding ketchup. and LOL at the Chicago people getting all high and mighty-- you can run your dog through a veggie garden but heaven forbid I put a little ketchup on mine. GTFO
me too. I dont put ketchup on anythingI'd rather eat a plain hot dog than ketchup on it
Maybe those cheap Oscar Meyers ones are but the giant Hebrew National ones are delicious. Hot dogs cooked over a campfire are fantastic. Even the cheap ones are good cooked that way.Hot Dogs are little kid food, HTH
I'm against ketchup on (insert edible substance here)So I assume you're all against ketchup on a hamburger?
The lower quality the dog, the more likely I will add ketchup.I'd rather eat a plain hot dog than ketchup on it
Well in that case I'm going with the tangy zip of Miracle WhipWe can't even figure out if a hot dog is a sandwich, and you want us to come to an agreement on proper condiments?
There is a mom and pop diner here in town that still uses this shtick. Freedom fries/toast. And they're dead serious about it.Freedom Fries
You never dip french fries in ketchup?BBQ sauce can and should be used in place of ketchup in all situation. Not that I'd rush to put BBQ sauce on a hot dog, but am certainly more accepting of it then something as awful as ketchup.
Wat? Sounds disgustingOne of my buddies puts applesauce on his dogs. I tried one once, it wasn't horrible . . . just ODD.
Typically just some salt (preferably celery salt) and a lot of pepper. Again if necessary (fries are awful) will use BBQ sauce. You never dip french fries in ketchup?
That's because Boston has much better foods to hang our hat on than a lowest common denominator sausage made of lips and balloon knots.thankful there is not such a thing as a Boston dog.
I'd rather eat a bottle of ketchup than a plain hot dogI'd rather eat a plain hot dog than ketchup on it
Bologna sandwich requires mustard and nacho cheese Doritos.I bet some of you rubes eat bologna sandwiches NOT made with organic focaccia.

"Everybody" is an exaggeration. Somebody started a "bagel dog" stand about 30 years ago that was in Pioneer Square where all the cool bars used to be. The bun was a bagel/hotdog bun combo and cream cheese was standard, along with a bunch of other toppings.I'm friends with a dude from Seattle. Told me everyone out there puts cream cheese on their hot dog. Went and tried it. Wasn't that great. Not terrible but no ambition to try it again.
