Are KJ owners handcuffing TJ Duckett? I don't know much about Duckett. Is he a worthy handcuff? What about in PPR leagues? Can he catch the ball?

I am a Jones owner, and the answer is no, because it doens't make sense to me. I think if Jones goes down, the Lions will simply go away from the running game altogether. I don't believe Duckett gets enough carries under any circumstances to warrant a handcuff.

This is really a thread about Duckett...not Jones.
Sorry.....Duckett is the backup and would like to know if KJ owners are handcuffing him due to recent events on KJ's health.
Makes sense. I suggest being a bit more descriptive in your title. That said...As a KJ owner, no. Someone already owns Duckett in my league and I don't care to go after him...
Thanks. In the future I'll make sure I'm more descriptive.

short answer no, KJ's bonus is his receiving skills which I don't think Duckett would match. If KJ went down, like others have said I think they would move away from the run more or use Duckett in a rbbc with another back thus degrading his value. Even if KJ has a poor rushing day like last week his receiving ability bumps him up. If he were to go down I don't see Duckett being featured in the same capacity.

I am a KJ and T Bell owner. TJ is a FA but I do not have a roster spot for him. trying to decide if I should drop Bell for TJ

 w/o KJ the lions probably throw even more and duckett isnt going to benefit from catching the ball. plus, tatum would be activated and along with cason we'd have a big old RBBC. duckett is a great change of pace back, nothing more.

I decided to handcuff with Duckett. I don't think Bell is in the Lion's plans at all and while I like KJ, we can't forget that he hasn't played a full season yet. Do you want to be without a RB during the playoffs should KJ get hurt? Bell isn't even active; Duckett is the guy to have.

If jones did not play, Tatum Bell would start again with Duckett being in the same role he is now.

Kevin Jones is not listed as an inactive, he should be good to go. Tatum Bell is inactive. Of course they need to preserve him (Kevin Jones)* for Thursday as well. I wonder if he will have a lighter load this week.

Detroit Inactives Week 11

*edited to specify Kevin Jones

This is a big game, what makes you think they hold back one of their best offensive weapons? I know they play GB next week, but this week is a big time game as well.

I don't know if you are a team insider or if this is just an opinion. If an insider then I would accept your opinion. However, in lieu of that it looks to me like Bell is worthless. He is listed as the Third RB on the team depth chart: http://www.detroitlions.com/section_displa...m?section_id=16

He hasn't been active lately and he has pretty much called out the team management publically about losing his starting job. Plus, he was not effective when he played. It looks to me like he has one foot out the door. I think Duckett would have the job if KJ went down and the news out of camp this week when KJ's status was uncertain was that Duckett would get more carries this week and would start if KJ couldn't

I am not certain they will, just wondering. Martz' offense favors passing game. He would be smart to run Jones against the aggressive NYG pass rush. With his foot having given him some problems this past week and the shortened week headed into week 12, I just wonder if he get the Lion's share of the RB load (no pun intended). I am considering going in another direction, though the matchup in that other direction is not so inviting.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: It's been a while since the Lions have played a meaningful game this late in November. With all the talk about rushing for -18 yards last Sunday in Arizona, the Giants expected the Lions to come out running with Kevin Jones. The thing is, Jones isn't 100 percent, and do you rotate him with T.J. Duckett? Detroit is thinking about this because it also plays on Thanksgiving and figures if Jones carries the entire load Sunday, he won't be able to do much against the Packers. The Giants believe they can get a lot of pressure against Jon Kitna, something they failed to do last Sunday against Tony Romo. New York has the defensive line rotation that could work should Mike Martz decide to dial up a lot of pass plays. Rookie WR Steve Smith didn't make the trip and RB Derrick Ward won't play for the Giants.

This is my exact concern - that they will give Duckett a heavier work load to save Jones for GB. A 75% KJ against the Giants, or a 100% Evans against NE... neither is especially pretty.

I have either Priest against the Colts or KJ against the Giants. Neither of these looks very good but I am hoping that KJ might push a TD over. I do not feel like KC will be in tha game after the half. I am going with KJ and hoping.

If they're thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving game, they will lose today's game.

If I don't go with KJ, my other option is Jamal Lewis v. the Ravens #2 ranked rushing defense. I see them being comparable starts and am leaning toward Lewis as he is more likely to see 20+ carries, plus the whole revenge factor of Browns v. Ravens and Lewis v. his old team. Uggh.

Very good point - SOLD!!

I decided to go with Fargas. Neither matchup is great but if the Lions are thinking about rotating backs Fargas should at least get more carries.

I hope

If Jones were such a huge ?, them I don't think that T. Bell would be inactive. Duckett is probably #2, but if Jones wern't expected to carry the load, you would need a backup to Duckett. Instead, Bell is inactive. The Gaints are a team that the Lions will be fighting for a playoff spot. With a key tiebreaker on the line in head to head, they need this game possibly even more than the GB game.

Jones is in my line up over Dayne. Granted, not the best option, but this is a must win for Detroit. Jones will play as much as he can phisically take.
