Kevin Meaney, a veteran stand-up comedian and actor has died. He was 60. Meaney's agent confirmed that he was found in his home in Forestburgh, NY, and that an autopsy is currently pending.

The comedy world, including Patton Oswalt, Judd Apatow, Roseanne Barr and Michael McKean paid tribute to Meaney on social media following the news.

"Kevin Meaney was as funny as they get and the nicest man," Apatow tweeted. "He could make you lose your mind laughing."

Meaney was a stand-up comedian for more than 25 years, with his first HBO special airing in 1986, according to his website. Since then, he has appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Late Show with David Letterman, Oprah and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

He appeared on the 1990 sitcom Uncle Buck as well as the Tom Hanks film Big.

 
Was just going to post this. Funny guy.  I remember his early stand up and he had a way of just making you laugh over basic stories.  RIP Meaney 
I'd bet if you just read transcripts of his act you would wonder what was the big deal.  He was an absolute master of execution.  And like you said, able to find endless amounts of humor in mundane, everyday conversations we all have with our families.
