Kickermania ... (1 Viewer)

According to Kickermania, David Akers is down near the bottom of this week's projections. The Cheatsheets have him much higher. I think playing against the Giants, in what is supposed to be good weather, is an average to above average matchup for Akers. So, initially, the Cheatsheets seem to be more likely to be correct. However, Kickermania contains detailed statistical support as to why Akers is going to suck something awful this week. Are either of these projections typically more accurate than the other?

i have no idea who "cappy" is, but to your point, Giants stadium is typically a very difficult place to kick. granted, Akers has been kicking there for years, but you can't predict the wind there.

i had josh brown, and saw he was ranked #1 or #2 in the cheatsheets, and also very high in kickermania. then i saw SEA is expecting wind gusts up to 70 mph tonight, and i dropped him lickety split. i love looking at kickermania to check out who they like, and it's generally been pretty useful on a "going forward" basis, but to predict a kicker's game week-in and week-out is kind of a crapshoot, in my opinion.

if anyone cares, i picked up jason hanson in place of brown this week, as GB's weather is supposed to be nice (and relatively wind-free), and i think while DET will move the ball, with no kevin jones around i feel they'll have difficulty punching it in. again though, i feel kickers are difficult to predict on a game by game basis.

It seems like Kickermania has been more accurate. Week to week and going forward. It is somewhat of a crapshoot, but I would say that Kickermanis is more accurate.

Thanks.

True, Giants stadium is not an easy place to kick even on a relatively nice day. Maybe Akers should be down in the rankings this week.

I was just wondering the same thing earlier today. There is a discrepancy with Kasay between the two rankings. Good info in here.
