Kickstarter: All Ready Leash (1 Viewer)

A friend of the family has started a kickstarter campaign to earn money for his "invention". Kindof a cool idea. Guy is a driven, hard worker. Thoughts on the product?

All Ready Leash

I respect the idea and hard work that goes into making an invention a reality but this seems like trying to reinvent the wheel. Attaching and removing a leash to a collar couldn't be easier. This makes the process more difficult, especially the wrapping the leash back into the collar part. I don't understand why people would buy this.

No collar laying around or needing to go find one when you need it.

Brilliant actually.

Looks neat, but my dog wouldn't stay still long enough to go from leash to collar mode.

Yeah, I think this is the angle...

I like the idea too. If he could figure out how to make it either longer than 5 feet, or one of those stretchable leashes, he could be onto something.

I think this idea is best for people who may be a little unorganized and lose things, like the dog collar.

The collar is already on the dog. Is there a huge problem of people losing leashes in the house? Putting the collar back to normal size just looks like it would be a hassle. Just being honest.

Is that Starbucks in Northville?

cool product, although put me in the camp of dog owner whose pets wouldn't sit still long enough to re wrap that .

I don't know, I don't have a dog.

That was my take as well. It didn't help that there were multiple video edits while showing the older lady wrapping it back to a collar.
and that is with a calm dog just sitting there. A younger dog is not going to sit patiently while you fiddle with that thing. Clasping a leash to a collar takes about a half second.

honestly I wouldn't buy it. looks like it is trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Plus, for people who care what the dog collar looks like...it's not the best looking thing out there.

He definitely needs to make a better video. I have seen plenty of crappy products get funded, because they had a decent video that at least sucked you in. This video makes me want to turn it off. Also, nobody cares if a leash can tow a pickup truck, and it definitely doesnt't help the cause that the old lady attaching the leash clip needed to be edited.

My first thought was that it was perfect for the dog that has a talent for getting loose. No need to go hunt up a leash before tracking him down. I wonder if you can use it as a normal collar and hook up a retractable leash to it.

Yes you can.

I haven't had a dog in a few years(looking to adopt a new one next spring), do people leave their dog's collar on when in the house? We used to take our dog's collar off inside. Also I'm seeing a lot more dogs wearing harnesses these days. Cool idea but I don't think it will gain much traction.

I take the collar off my dog at night and she brings it to me in the morning to be put back on.

Cool gimmick but not something I'd buy. Seems likes like too much of a pain in the ### to do back up and the potential of it coming undone just isn't worth it.

My dog would kindly tell me to #### off and then run off to go chew on a bone before I could re-wrap the damn thing.

Good luck though!

Agree that the editing on the old lady putting the collar back together is bad.

I could see this as a nice thing to have when traveling with your dog. Instead of having to pack a leash it is just built in to the collar. Beyond that I think I'm also in the camp of it is just easier to clip on a leash and undoing two clasps and unwinding to use it, and then reversing the process to wrap it up again.

Pretty cool!

And more pics/videos of the hottie, please. :oldunsure:
Uh, that's his sister.
Well his sister is attractive* and his product looks promising.

* I'm a founding member of the Guys With Hot Sisters Club, so I know the drill. :hangover:
Did you just say you think your sister's hot?
:coffee:

It's not difficult to ascertain who got the looks in the family. Plus my fraternity buddies never let me forget it after letting her come up to hang out one weekend in college. :hot:

Instead of a new leash, how about some dog training?
Funny story actually, but my French Bulldog puppy can be pretty stubborn. He likes to bite the leash and then stop walking randomly when we get in our hallway at the condo complex. Well, I just keep walking and he's got the leash in his mouth and he's still being dragged. (theres no pressure on his neck since he has the end I'm holding in his mouth in a death grip) Well I'm dragging him and he's flopping around like a little #### head and some lady comes out of her door and sees me dragging my dog and he immediately lets go and looks up her with big sad eyes. This lady looks at me like i was just committing animal abuse and I have to try and explain that he does it on his own and likes being dragged... I just know the ASPCA will probably be stopping by.

Good simple idea. The towing demo was a bit much. Nobody cares it can do that. Better to have some kind of durability/longevity demo.

:lmao: Yeah I didn't exactly get this either. May as well went the comedic route having the dog pull the truck

Creative, but I'd rather just clip the leash. Less of a hassle.
Infomercials always have some over the top visual like that, e.g. a vacuum player picking up a bowling ball or a kitchen knife cutting a pop can.

It may or may not have been the best choice for a kickstarter video, but following the tried and true methods of "As seen on TV" product advertising does make some sense.
