I had a Flash Gordon lunch box.  I didn't even like that movie.  I think it was discounted heavily and Ma Malaise thought I should like Flash Gordon at that price point.

During the week, I'd wake up at like 6:30 or 7am on my own and watch cartoons before school.

That said, if I ever woke up before 6:30, I'd wander into the tv room and turn it on to see Mr Magoo - which I HATED (and do, to this day). I'd go back and lay in bed for 20 min or whatever until it was over.

At least it wasn't Davey and Goliath.   I still get sick just thinking about the many ruined mornings because of that awful show.

Although my go-to candy was Fun Dip.

Candy stick used to fish pink candy from a packet. After eating all the neon candy, eat the candy stick.  Environmentally sound, come to think of it.

Anyone else get empty cigar boxes and use them for pens/pencils/crayons. And only lunchbox I remember was an Incredible Hulk one.

Yep ... had the cigar boxes a couple of times. They started selling the cigar-box style cardboard "school boxes" in the drugstores soon after. Some of the same characters got on school boxes that on got on lunch kits.

And, yes, I had the Hulk lunch kit (around here, it was always "lunch kits", not "lunch box"  )

Blessed Sacrament - our Friday's (from 1st through 6th grade) were chili and a peanut butter sandwich - except during Lent, then it was fish sticks and mac n cheese.  Peanut butter sandwiches with a bowl of chili?  Who knew?
