Kiper's Mock Draft (1 Viewer)

Shouldn't Minny address their QB issues before wasting a draft pick on the wide receiver position. I venture a guess if they had a decent QB; Berrian, Rice and Wade/ Allison would be pretty decent. Not to mention, "Vishee Swa" however you say his name at TE

I love Crabtree to Seattle.
I keep trying to mock someone else there but it makes too much sense not to happen. If he's even there for them to take. He'd be a fit in both St. Louis and KC as well.
can you think of some teams that would trade into the top 3 to grab him before seattle? I dont watch college ball so not sure of his talent level.
I can't see anyone trading to get him, but he would fit with teams like Oakland, Jacksonville, San Fran, and Buffalo - all that are within striking distance of trading up.
I tried to look at that angle, but couldn't see it. Oakland typically does their WR shopping late, hoping to mine an unknown jem, and a slower/posession WR early round 1 just doesn't match Al's MO. Jacksonville has had a dozen big, slow posession guys in recent history (though none I think as highly of as Crabtree) so that type of guy may be getting stale on them. I think San Fran is rather content with Morgan/Hill going forward and wouldn't feel the need to trade up to #3 to get him. Buffalo just got Hardy & Steve Johnson last year...I just can't envision someone within striking distance (top 12) trading up to #3 to get him, and I can't see him getting past Seattle at #4. I think this is the biggest lock of the draft, and would put Crabtree smack into the 1.01 rookie spot IMO. The biggest threat to move up to get him may be Cleveland if they are indeed expecting to move one or both of Braylon & Winslow II. Quinn would need a weapon, and I could see that making sense but their needs on defense outweigh the need to replace a WR by so much that I can't even make that happen in my mind's eye.

I've been following the Rams a bit lately via their local papers and message boards. I'm not sure if it was the hiring of Spags or what, but the entire fan base went from wanting an OT to now being convinced that Crabtree is the only option. From a business standpoint, I think it's in the Rams best interest to leak their interest in Crabtree to possibly generate trade opportunities, but I wouldn't be shocked if they stepped up on draft day and grabbed him...ruining 100% of mock drafts throughout the land that have him going to Seattle. blurb in Stl Dispatch:

"A guy like Crabtree would be a sexy pick," said the NFC scout. "He's abig-time down-the-field receiver. He'll come in and be good. He's legit. Justlistening to the Rams' scouts, I guarantee you the people there are going to bepushing for Crabtree."

Al Davis likes to draft more DBs (with lots of speed) in the first round than anything else. He has also picked speed RBs like McFadden and Kaufman. He picks speed WRs late in the draft (6th, 7th, later in earlier years). I dont know why anybody thinks there is a myth that he picks speed WRs in round 1. He does pick speed throughout the draft but for WRs, the pure speed guys usually come late. He's always looking for the next James Jett bargain simple deep threat. Sure he was willing to spend big for guys like Randy Moss, Tim Brown, Javon Walker, and to an extent Jerry Porter. However those guys could do more than run quickly down field.
