Kiper's Top 10 for 2007 (1 Viewer)

People comparing Szamardija to Bennett have really short memories.

I picture him as more of an Ed McCaffery type. And man do I hope he's around in the 2nd round for the Eagles to take.

I think the "Herman Moore with more speed" comparison is an outstanding one.Ted Ginn's problem isn't his height, by the way. Steve Smith, Santana Moss, etc. have proven that under the new rules, that isn't a problem. His problems are hands, toughness, and durability.

I find it interesting just how deep this QB class could be.

The seniors alone would make this a solid class. Brady Quinn, Drew Stanton, Sam Hollenbach (Arizona State), Steven Moffett (UCF), Jordan Palmer (UTEP), Kent Smith (Central Michigan), and Josh Betts (Miami of Ohio) all have been solid college QBs with the size to move to the NFL.

This class could get a bigger boost depending on which of the juniors come out too. You have guys like JaMarcus Russell at LSU, Lester Ricard of Tulane, Brian Brohm, Kyle Wright of Miami, and Blake Powers out of Indiana.

I just decided next year will not only be the revenge of the wide receivers but also the year of the quarterback.

Quinn, Stanton, Brohm have been mentioned.  Scott Wright has been pimping Booty as the #1 QB next year.  Sorry, but cross town super stud Ben Olson is going to be better and drafted sooner.  Olson will start for one year at UCLA and be in the discussion with Quinn, seriously.  Trent Edwards is another fine Pac 10 QB, and I say that with caution, but he's good. Drew Tate is a nice QB who could get his name in the mix.  Jordan Palmer is starting to get it, and the similarities to his brother Carson are real.  Colt Brennan will be finishing up an amazing career in Hawaii, and he is a pretty complete QB package, nice mobility, great arm, incredible numbers.  I'll call it a year in advance.  Quinn will not be the first QB drafted.  I'll take the field.  Someone, probably Olson, Stanton, or Brohm, will be drafted before him.  These are good QB prospects.  Better than this years.

Edwards was the #2 QB behind Ben Olson (UCLA now) coming out of college. Olson is also a talented QB but he went on a Mormon mission for two years after high school and hasn't played, not sure if he'll start for UCLA this year.

Have you seen Ben play? He should have started this year. I'm positive he'll start next year. I know Drew had his career season, but he's not even in the same ballpark as Ben as a prospect. Ben's already the starter on the depth chart. He was #2 last season and the media cried for him to start last fall, but Drew did have a great season (driven by fear of being benched for Ben according to some). #3 UCLA QB Koral has a UDFA contract with the Colts. Anyway, Ben Olson is a fantastic prospect. He may stay for two years, but I'm right about this guy. He will be drafted very high. Too many tools. Too much talent. The two years mission thing has him all grown up and looking manly on the field. He is often compared to Elway. Meh, it's like comparing Cutler to Favre-- they look similar playing. Ben is a beast of Elwayesque proportions-- he has those kind of tools.

Sam Keller will start for Arizona State and I almost mentioned him. He's good, but I think he's more of your typical Pac 10 overrated good. Rudy Carpenter came in and lit it up as a freshman at ASU when Keller got hurt this year. I thought about mentioning JaMarcus Russell too. I think he'll be a tier below though. Kent Smith is UDFA in Oakland. Never thought much of him. Betts is UDFA in Indy. Better shot at sticking, I think, but not likely. Moffett is an interesting call, but probably a second day guy. Here's your first round competition a year in advance

Brady Quinn

Drew Stanton

Ben Olson

Brian Brohm

John David Booty

Trent Edwards

Drew Tate

Jordan Palmer

my .02

Have to jump in the QB discussion here and say don't sleep on Tyler Palko at Pitt. The whole team went in the tank last year when Wannstedt showed up, but he looked like a solid pro prospect in 2004.

I didn't really follow UCLA much once I realized they decided to play Drew over Ben. I was really excited that Ben was coming to UCLA since I had followed his recruiting coming out of college. He certainly has all the skills to be an NFL QB and should be a 1st round pick.

Ted Ginn Jr, will move up the chart once everybody remembers how fast he is.

What about the safety from Notre Dame? He's a blazer also.

WOW. Those Ted Ginn Jr. highlights made my eyes open there for a second o_o

CRAZY FAST is all I can say.

Ted Ginn Jr's speed was amazing, I think he is faster than Vick or FWP

You do realize that this is a kid who whent to Olympic trials in the hurdles as a high school studet. He is EASILY faster than Vick and FWP.

The guy in my avatar has raced Teddy several times and never lost to him. At the Texas relays recently, he ran a 10.18 100m.Jamaal Charles. RB. #25.

Remember that name.

Just add Peterson, he's not going back to Oklahoma.

 I was thinking the same thing.Watch out for OU this season, they may be in position for a nice run.....

Unfortunately for the Longhorns of course......

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
At the rate they're losing OL starters, well, I just don't know. If they can get their OL problems (which are notable) resolved, then they can be really good.

By protocol, doesn't he only get to rate seniors? Without underclassmen, this type of thing is seriously flawed from the start.

for a guy with 6 1st rounders next year, thanks to all who have contributed to this thread

Wow, you must be really bad! ;)
actually we havent even had our intital draft yet......ive just been making alot of trades, moving around and picked up these 6 in the process
