Knowshon Moreno Out (1 Viewer)

So, who is getting the carries this week? Buckhalter or Maroney?
Tough call....have to say C buck starts with L.M added into the mix...whoever runs better gets the most carries...its a crap shoot and not worth the trouble...both guys are on my waiver wire and i would love to have a crystal ball right now so i could add one of them for future reference :lmao:

I feel good about starting Buckhalter this week against a bad IND run defense(257 rush yard week 1 and 188 week 2). I think he is a solid #2 RB or flex start. he has to be in the 19th -24th best RB start this week.

also if Knowshon Moreno is out 4 weeks, as of this moment I would think that Buckhalter is the guy to own and not Laurence Maroney.

I expect Buckhalter to have a nice game his first 1 week, if that is the case why would Denver not stick with him the 2nd week. and so forth until he shows he cant handle the load.

the next 2 weeks he would face

IND - 28th against the run

TEN - 17th against the run

this should allow him to succeed and let him keep the starting role.

"Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno's (hamstring) injury is not believed to be the same hamstring that he pulled in training camp this year, according to FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer."

So now we're looking at a new hamstring issue. Moreno has multiple bum hamstrings. Is it time to send him to waivers?

Indianapolis (1-1) should see more of a three-headed approach to the run game by Denver, with Buckhalter and newcomers Laurence Maroney and Andre Brown likely to share the workload.

Buckhalter, himself no stranger to injury, still may not be ready to pound it into the line 20 times. He hurt his neck and back in the first team drill of training camp and was sidelined for three weeks. Buckhalter played in the preseason finale and has 17 carries for 34 yards with a TD during the regular season.

"Without going through a preseason and getting banged around and stuff for that month, my preseason's kind of been the last two games we played," Buckhalter said. "So just getting the chance to get the rust off, I'm kind of feeling like myself right now, especially late in the week."

Maroney hasn't even had two weeks to assimilate Denver's playbook after his acquisition via trade from New England on Sept. 15. He didn't even begin practising with the Broncos until this week due to a thigh injury sustained in the Patriots' final preseason game.

But that transition has been eased by a Denver offence that's similar to the one coach Josh McDaniels ran with Maroney in New England from 2006-08. He's also played the Colts four times, playoffs included.

"For the most part the system is pretty easy," Maroney said. "I'm not saying too easy, but I know a lot of it and I feel confident I can go in there and do my thing and not have too many mistakes."

Brown has had an even more whirlwind journey to this point. He was awarded to Denver off waivers Sept. 5 after spending the preseason with the New York Giants. The Broncos waived him Sept. 15 with the intent of bringing him back on the practice squad, which they did two days later.

But when Ryan Grant was lost for the season by the Green Bay Packers, they were going to sign Brown. Denver reacted by adding Brown to the active roster Tuesday.

"I feel comfortable enough to where I feel all right out there on certain plays," said Brown, who appears to have overcome a turf toe injury that limited him in August with New York. "It's still a learning process, learning by reps and stuff like that. As it goes, I'm going to go, and when they throw me in there, I've just got to be ready."

I was pretty sick to see this news this afternoon. I received an oddly timed trade offer last night whereby I got Mareno for Floyd.

Would hate to think this info was in any way out a little early and that someone sent me this... incredible.

buckhalter averaged 5.4ypc last year...slow start sure but dismissing him because of 2 poor games with low amounts of carries seems pretty foolish

Rotoworld - NFL Network's Mike Lombardi predicted on Total Access Friday that Laurence Maroney will be the Broncos' primary back with Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) sidelined.

Lombardi, who's close to people in the Denver organization, conceded that Correll Buckhalter "will be involved," but made it sound like Maroney has a very good chance to immediately take over as the lead back. The Colts' defense is not stout against the run, so Maroney is worth flex consideration because of the matchup. He is over his previous thigh injury.

This is amazing, my drafted RB's WERE Ryan Grant, Reggie Bush and Knowshon Mareno. I am my own Madden curse this year. Which reminds me, I also have Brees....

oh well back to the wire.....

I don't know? I guess I'm just having a tough time envisioning Maroney being the primary back this week. If Moreno is out for an extended period I definitely see Maroney pvertaking Bulkhalter but for the Indy game, I can't see how it wouldn't be Buck? What are your guys' thoughts?

and so forthe second year in row, somebody in my league drafts a 4th string RB only to have him luck his way into a starting gig

incredible

Correll Buckhalter - I would look at him if you are in a pinch. He has the ability to catch balls which might prove very handy in a game where Denver figures to have to score a lot in order to keep pace with Indy. Some of his highlights last year include 106 total yds, 92 yds+5 receptions, 75 yds+4 receptions, 46 yds+6 receptions, 128 total yds+3 receptions...he can fill in and gather up double digit points. Maroney is not ready to do much. Those were some of his starts or sharing time with Moreno.

I would grab and stash one of these guys if I had room. I would have a hard time starting any of them this week though. It's fresh pickings for Broncos RB stats. Someone's going to get them, but who it will be is a bit of a crap shoot. My monies on CBuck, but only if he stays healthy and that's a big IF with that guy. Belichick hated Maroney for a reason. But McDaniel's obviously liked him at least somewhat and will give him some opps.

guys..Maroney sucks. Don't you think with the Patriots passing game that Maroney would have won the starting job in NE by now. He didn't because he sucked and that won't change in Denver. This is most likely a situation to avoid.

IMHO, any RB in NE will suck.
why is that? With the emphasis on the passing game, the starting RB should have some nice holes on draw plays, catches out of the back field, ect....just like Addai. Maroney never was able to be the guy because he was a dancer, never hit the hole hard. He is what he is.

This is amazing, my drafted RB's WERE Ryan Grant, Reggie Bush and Knowshon Mareno. I am my own Madden curse this year. Which reminds me, I also have Brees....oh well back to the wire.....
Wow, hopefully that is an 18 team league...

Knowshon Moreno-RB- Broncos Sep. 24 - 9:55 pm et

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Knowshon Moreno's strained hamstring will cost him "probably two weeks."

Keep in mind that Mort said this in reply to a Twitter question, so it's not an official "report." However, Mortensen has been on the story from the get-go, and was the first to report that the injury happened in Friday's practice. Laurence Maroney is tentatively expected to lead the Broncos in carries while Moreno is out, but we'll know more about the backfield distribution after Week 3. Correll Buckhalter and Andre Brown are also in the mix.

You're an idiot! Was that a necessary comment? Do you know my entire team? Do you know our format? It's idiot comments like that that make people get sick of the childish games here.I was making a comment about how I have three RB's already injured and it's only been two weeks into the season. Using the DD for our format and scoring system it had Ryan Grant and K. Moreno as top 15 RB's. I wish I had your foresight to see these injuries coming. Reggie Bush was my/the last pick in the draft, I though it was a nice insurance policy.Keep up the good work though!

Unless he has Andre Johnson, Miles Austin and Antonio Gates to go along with that, I think that's a cellar-dweller, even without injuries, in a 22-team league.

Losing Moreno is a tough spot...especially if you have Reggie as your 3, like me.

I handled it by picking up Buckhalter, waiting a day, and cutting him to pick up Bernard Scott...the Laurence Maroney owner has Cedric Benson. Buckhalter on waivers now, and a reasonable chip for a couple weeks of Maroney if need be. While I expect Buckhalter to be the guy this week, I cannot fathom using him - he looks putrid.

Here's to hoping Marion Barber finally gets going.

LOL...interestingly enough, I have Moreno and Bush, but I have McCoy...not Grant. More to the point, I actually do have Andre Johnson, Miles Austin and Antonio Gates.
