Ex-Viking Robinson gets 90 days in jail

ST. PETER, Minn. — Former Minnesota Vikings receiver Koren Robinson will have to serve 90 days in jail for fleeing police last August, a prosecutor said.

He was sentenced in Nicollet County Court on Tuesday for leading officers on a high-speed chase from St. Peter to Mankato during Vikings training camp.

Assistant County Attorney Paul Tanis said Robinson will be on probation for three years. He'll also have to do 80 hours of community service and pay a $1,500 fine.

Robinson is now with the Green Bay Packers.

Tanis said Robinson is to report to the county jail by March 1, although he can arrange to serve the 90-day sentence in Wisconsin if he chooses to do so.

Robinson can also serve the sentence at the same time he serves 90 days for violating his probation in a separate drunken-driving case in Kirkland, Wash., last year.

Robinson showed remorse in court Tuesday — saying he's been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and trying to avoid alcohol.

3 years probation. I would say the odds of him staying clean for 3 years is slim.

He is still young enough to eventually be a solid football and fantasy player again.

I wish they would try and sentence these guys during the regular season. They wouldn't wait for me if I was going to trial.
you would also be in lockup a lot longer than 90 days and he gets to serve his two sentences at the same time. :D
yeah it's not fair but that's life in this country. This 90 days was somewhat expected IIRC. He's been arrested so often I can't recall if he's already been suspended by the NFL for this or if he needs to be or pay a fine or somesuch. The pack seemed to like him. If he plays I'd bet it's with them

He was suspended by the NFL for a year for this last season, and can apply for reinstatement in October. He'll still be under contract with GB.
