Kris Jenkins Out for year (1 Viewer)

Guy just fell back and had his knee bent back - Could have happened to anyone....

Sheesh, like I said in another thread... I just hate the injury aspect of this game and would love to watch teams and players play at their full potential.....

I Loved watching Jenkins look like the Kool Aid man ripping through double teams... Guy was a beast if he could stay on the field.....

Sad for him as well, it was a tough come back that he questioned at times... Now I'm pretty sure he's retired...

Uggggh.

I hope Bob Sanders comes thru better... Love to watch him play the game.

Dammit - huge loss from both an on- and off-field perspective.

As mentioned in the Jets' thread from last night, the pass rush really didn't do much when Jenkins went down. Like last year, they have to find a way to pressure the QB or the secondary will continue to be exposed.

somebody texted Mike and Mike this morning and said the Jets should offer some picks to WASH for Haynesworth even though he hates the 3-4.. :goodposting:

This sucks. I've known Kris for over 10 years. He's a good dude and I know he was really excited about this season.

Hopefully he can come back from this but with another serious knee injury for a man of his size, you have to wonder if it's worth it.

Isn't he due a ton of money? The Jets are going to have to settle for finding a JAF.....No $$$ left.Just another Fatso..... to plug the middle.

Who will be starting in his place?
They played much of last year with Pouha and had a pretty good defense....It's the depth and the rotation thing you lose out on... The defense would work best with Jenkins on run downs and a mix of Pouha or even both on the field at the same time...Definite drop off but, last year many of us were ready to throw in the towel and the Defense still did ok.Sucks.

Actually, he has pretty reasonable salaries. It was the huge signing bonus the Skins already paid him that was the brunt of his contract. Either way though, I don't really see him coming here.

I always liked Kris when he was a Panthers, until he started whining because the team entertained trade offers. Unfortunately, he could just never stay healthy.

The 2001 Carolina Panthers draft class had three potential hall of famers in the first three rounds. Two of them (Dan Morgan and Kris Jenkins) just couldn't stay healthy. Steve Smith still has an outside shot, but I would say he'll probably miss out unless he can put together a few more monster seasons and a ring or two.

Tough break for the Jets D - Jenkins is an absolute beast in the middle.

His replacements are adequate against the run but do not get to the QB.

He didn't finish the season in 4 out of the past 7 years. In 04, 05, 09, and 10, he played a total of 12 games.

I hope he is ok. Jenkins has a history of getting pretty messed up emotionally and physically when he is out for the season.

Seems to me like he will have the rest of his life to figure things out.
