Kurt Warner (1 Viewer)

Anybody see Warner play yesterday? I know TBs defense is tough this year, but Warner's stats are atrocious. I hope this was a case of TB's D playing well. Warner has a favorable schedule going forward.
Warner was looking good coming from the bench for Leinart with the no-huddle offense (and people said "Leinart is garbage....start Kurt" )...now that he starts from the beginning of the match you see the result....
he also got his arm bent up like a pretzel in that time too
Considering all of the QB who've gone down this year or smoking up the joint. Warner could become a force with that cupcake schedule going forward.
Anyone out there taking a chance and starting Kurt this week?

I'm in a must win situation so I couldn't bank on Kurt coming up this week. I ended up trading for Favre to see what happens, although Kurts schedule does look too good to be true.

This week...and this week only. Brady owner.

:hey: Going with my gut... :scared: Starting him over Kitna. Detroit has the 30th ranked pass defense and Kurt should come out and throw a lot more than he did last week.

Im starting Warner over Kitna as well and don't think Im taking a chance at all. Kitna's last 3 out of 4 games have been pretty ho-hum. Warner facing a very porous Lions Pass D, could be in for a huge day.

I'm starting Warner over Rivers. It's more a matter of Rivers' overall suckiness than anything that has inspired me by Warner.

I am starting Warner this week also, and probably each week from here out. Only because my other qb is Campbell. I haven't found a good qb since delhomme went down early on. He was playing great too. I have a pretty solid team, but couldn't find anybodt to trade with me for a qb. 12 team league, and I have ADP, Portis, Sjax, Braylon, Roy Williams, Santonio and the Steelers D as my starters. Solid team with no qb.

I'm doing the same. Kitna annoyed me with those three straight games without a TD pass, and of course I like Warner against the Lions at home. Warner was good in week 7 despite the elbow problem. Though I see this decision as close to a coin flip.

I hear ya I had Delomme and I've struggled because I have a solid team without a real QB. I traded Jennings for Garcia (on bye) last week. While I hated to trade Jennings my team is stacked at the WR position. T.O., T.J., Evans, and Branch. Reggie Bush, KJ, and Jones Drew anchor my RBs. I had Griese (on waivers now) but man he let me down againnst the Lions before his bye. Another guy I'm considering is Losman against the Dolphins D who's on waivers right now. Grrr I'm torn here, I like Warner's upside, Garcia's consistency (but no real upside but Losman's matchup this week and I own Evans as well.ARrrrrrghhhh!

Kurt Warner suffered a torn ligament in his left thumb Sunday.

Warner wasn't completely removed from the game, but did lose snaps to Tim Rattay on the goal line, and ultimately had a touchdown pass "vultured" by him on a second-and-goal play. Unless Warner's thumb heals during the week, the Cardinals could continue to use Rattay in certain situations going forward. Warner is having trouble handing off and gripping the ball.

Ahhhhh CRAP. Am I going to have to go back to Rivers as my starting QB? :goodposting: I seem to recall Warner's downward spiral from his MVP days began when he had a thumb problem that was affecting his ability to grip the ball years ago. He was never back to form after that. I was wondering why Rattay was 1/1 for a 2-yard TD pass.

I watched most of the game and there was no mention to warner tearing a ligament in his left thumb. Rattay came in because Warner still hands off with his right hand due to the torn ligaments suffered in his elbow a few weeks ago. Moreover, I did not see Warner grip his hand in pain once. Maybe it happened when i flicked on another game, but he was not hurt when Rattay came in. He ran off as if he was being subbed out. Also, I clicked on the link to the story from rotoworld and there is no mention of a torn ligament in his thumb. There is no mention of it in the Arizona Republic.

Thanks for the observations. That's a much more positive spin. :)

I think the 'torn ligament in left thumb' was a mistake on the part of the Detroit Free Press (where this was reported). I heard nothing on any of the Cards post-game shows. (radio and TV)

He has a torn ligament in his left elbow. My guess is that they saw Rattay come in at the goalline (which he has been doing the last several weeks) and thought something was wrong and asked someone and just either got wrong information or misunderstood the injury.

Thanks man. That is what I was thinking. Like I said, I even went to the Detroit Free Press page that was linked to the story by rotoworld and there was nothing about a torn ligament in his thumb.

He almost threw for 500 yards... amazing stuff from a guy considered by many to be a football corpse.

The power of Christ compels him...

To throw for mad yards, TD's and turnovers.
