Kyle Blanks: How many times will he strikeout... (1 Viewer)

Preseason pundit lovechild Blanks (I was/am firmly on the bandwagon too) is putting together an impressive season so far. He currently has 12 ABs and has struckout in 6 of those without drawing a single walk.

To put that in perspective, Strikeout King Mark Reynolds, having a horrible start to the season, only has 5 Ks and has already drawn 3 BBs.

Troy Glaus even has 2 BBs.

Chris Davis, aka Ryan Garko's back-up, only has 1 K.

Clearly, Blanks has been special so far.

How long do you think he can keep the streak going?

It's a shame he's probably punching an early ticket to AAA, otherwise he might threaten Reynolds' record this season.

(Just realized Adam LaRoche has a more impressive 0-for-12, 6K, 0BB start, but wtf cares about Adam LaRoche?)

If we're discounting intentional passes, I'd say he's got at least 6 more K's before the first walk

Yeah, I may have put too much pressure on young Blanks. He couldn't muster a single strikeout today. The kid's got plenty of upside, but he's no Mark Reynolds.

Given his well documented problems running to first base, it's amazing that grimace does not seek to walk more often.
