I'm in a keeper league and Kyle Orton's name is being bandied about. In trying to ascertain his value, I was wondering, what the the Pool thinks his value is next year?

Is this year a mirage, and the 2nd half will bear that out?

How much impact will Tebow have this year and next.

What say you?

orton has always been a better passer than people give him credit for, and once demaryius gets his shot in the offense, orton will only get better. he will be a top 5 qb next year, and possibly better if denver can improve the defense and give the O some better field positiion

I think a lack of any running game at all will slow his passing numbers down. I also think Tebow will vulcher a handful more TDs the second half. I have him in multiple leagues and am still comfortable starting him, but am concerned that his last three weeks will be more of a norm the remainder of the year.

I have Flacco and Orton, I have been hesitant to play Orton after seeing tebow vulturing TD's. I am concerned that this trend will grow, especially after a bye week that gave them more time to figure out ways to work him in.

Same boat here with Flacco and Orton. Are you playing weekly matchups or rolling with Flacco week in week out? I'm doing the former, just curious.....

While I agree Orton is a better QB than he's being given credit for, I don't think the Broncos are discernably better than their current record. Judging my McD's last two drafts, I don't expect them to be a whole lot better next year. If that's the case, the grumblings for Tebow will only grow louder (even if it's not Orton's fault).

If you can find owners thinking like the guys above, I say buy now. Tebow's role hurts Moreno just as much as it hurts Orton. they have some playmakers at the WR position.

Mostly playing the matchups, but now with Tebow coming in more, the matchup has to be exceptional. Every week they are ranked pretty closely on ESPN and CBS so I've felt safe playing either. Fortunately it hasn't cost me any games - My only loss was last week and I had no choice due to the bye week.

It's not like Tebow is throwing TD passes. Tebow is used as a RB basically, so I don't see that as an issue in regards to Orton being the QB.
He comes in when either Orton could punch it in himself or pass it due to the lack of a running game. Most teams on the 1 yd line would hand off to their running back. Denver hasn't had that option for much of the year with injuries to moreno and a generally pathetic run game. Tebow is vulturing Orton's TD's more than the rbs IMHO.

So anyway, the original question posed was specific to next year. My guess is Tebow's situational role continues to expand and even though it's been limited to "goal-to-go" he'll soon be vulturing more than Moreno's 1 yd TD's. To what extent, we don't know.

Completely disagree. Except for 1 fade TD to Lloyd, I believe all Orton's TDs have been from further than 5 yards. Tebow is just a replacement for what they wanted Lendale White to be. Not sure what will shake out next season though.

I can agree to disagree....I am annoyed enough at TJones cutting in to Jamaal Charles and McGahee getting goal line touches over Ray Rice....I don't like it whenever they pull a good qb for a wildcat or other BS. I think this will continue to cut into Orton's TDs. I'll roll with Flacco unless the matchup for Orton is WAY better than Flacco's.

I think Orton will be valued at around QB10 next year. Off the top of my head, QBs that I would prefer:

P. Manning

Brees

Rodgers

Rivers

Vick (if still in PHI)

Roethlisberger

Romo

Schaub

Ryan

I'd value him roughly on a par with Eli Manning for next yr.

Interesting list. I would agree up to Roeth, but I'm not sure about the last 3. With how well the Texans offensive line has been playing, I think they become far more balanced, and I don't see Ryan becoming an elite fantasy QB, especially with Gonzalez continuing to go downhill. I also think McDaniel's offense is very conducive to a productive passing QB.
