Kyle Rudolph (1 Viewer)

Haven't heard much about this guy lately, is he still supposed to be the next possible Jimmy Graham?

why do I continually see him compared to graham?

since gronk blew the lid off the te position it seems like everybody is expected to hit 1000/10 like it's no big deal.

brees just threw for 5400/46

ponder put up 1800/13 in 10 games -- which is not even a half brees on a per game basis.

People are looking to find the next Graham/Gronk...that is why the comparison question comes into play. I don't know anything about Rudolph or his game so I was wondering if he was comparable athletically (since they are the same size and Rudolph has been getting glowing reviews in camp).

He's getting good reviews in camp, but if the qb isn't putting up massive yards and td's, his numbers won't be on par with graham or gronk. The vikes also have ADP and Harvin getting the ball first. I am targeting late in all my drafts though. I think he can be solid

I understand. Gronk & Graham have a big advantage in the QB category for sure.

He is fully healthy this year and has a shot to break into the top 10 but it is going to depend heavily on Ponder's development. Ponder likes him as a security blanket so that is a big plus.

People forget that not only did McNabb start the season but it was a short off-season because of the strike. I think Ponder did a decent job especially when you factor in the horrible offensive line play. I doubt many QBs could have come in and thrown for 3000+ yards in their rookie year given those circumstances. I'm not saying he's Brees or Brady, those guys didn't even have to play their rookie years. As to Rudolph, does anyone remember some of the catches he made last year? Awesome athletic ability and he's not as slow as some might think. Remember he is now 2 years removed from the hamstring surgery he had in college.I'm drinking the cool aid on him for sure.

Rudolph has all the tools to be a great TE. He is big, fast, runs great routes, and catches everything that gets close to him. This will be his breakout season and will be a top 5 TE this year I predict.

Pretty sure to be the next Gronk/Graham you need a Brees/Brady, not a Ponder.
:goodposting: He has the ability to get at the top of tier 2, but due to his QB limitations I'd be very surprised if he's close to Gronk or Graham's 2011.

I mostly agree but I would guess he finishes top 10-15. I think Simpson is going to be a great addition to the offense once he comes off suspension but even after that Rudolph is looking like the 2nd best passing option for Ponder after Harvin. Simpsons return should take enough focus off Rudolph so that teams cannot double him.Rudolph has great hands and body control. If healthy I see him catching 50 or more this season.

Ponder has to be a troubling part of the equation for dynasty owners.
He loves him in the redzone, Ponder's been pretty solid overall this year. The Vikings play calling is pretty conservative and their isn't much leftover in terms of yards outside of Harvin and AP.

Rudolph is on the verge of being one of the best TEs in FF. Ponder is a quality QB prospect, as well. I expect very good things in the future (from both of them).

Actually, I'd say "the Minnesota defense and special teams playing incredibly well this season" would be a more accurate read. Barely had to pass this week; same thing a few weeks ago against Detroit.
Did you all watch the game? I saw some pretty wicked bad passes. I think there is a ceiling here.

Man, I have been kicking myself for three days about starting Vernon Davis over Kyle Rudolph. Turns out, I would have gotten zero points regardless.

I look at this as an anamoly, since there wasn't a need to pass too much. Even Percy Harvin only had 45 yards and 4 catches this week. It happened a couple of weeks ago as well when they built up a big lead early.

I guess it's always a risk that it happens again, but I think they he's producing at a high enough level to continue to be a good option. He did have a number of targets still.

Arizona has been a solid pass defense ranking in the Top 10. I wouldn't worry too much this week. The one concern I had was the number of picks Ponder has thrown the last two weeks... too many bad reads. Rudolph, on the other hand, is solid. I spent last week at the Minnesota - Redskins game and focused a lot on Rudolph as I have him as a potential keeper. He is a good route runner, able to get separation, good hands, and a good blocker. He was in the game a majority of snaps (not sure what the snap count was). Needless to say, I saw a pretty solid TE that is going to be a force for a while.

The problem is the Vikings defense is too good, once Minnesota gets a lead of 10 + points anytime they seem to slow it down offensively to avoid mistakes and let their defense, special teams and Peterson finish the game out.

He will be a great fantasy tight end but it is going to take another year or two before he becomes consistent, when they take off the training wheels on Ponder.
