Kyler Murray price check (1 Viewer)

What would you take and what would you give in a start 1QB league?

For me, I would probably sell for an early 2nd if I had other options that were decent. I would probably buy at a mid 2nd if I was QB starved. Otherwise I'm not buying.

Good question. Which would you rather (in a start 1 QB league), Kyler Murray or Bryce Young/CJ Stroud? I might still lean toward Murray, but that gap is closing.

If I was QB starved I would definitely bite on an early 2nd. There aren't a lot of QB starved teams in 1QB, but even with Mahomes I think I would be tempted to walk off with him as a high upside backup for a 2.6.

Young & Stroud is a tough call. Right now, I feel like Murray is the smart play. Give Young & Stroud a home with a young weapon at their disposal and I could definitely talk myself into the shiny new toy. As a fan, Kyler is not a guy I root for. I tend to keep those emotions away from my fantasy personnel decisions, but they do factor in.

I currently have early 2nd rnd as my qb territory in 12-team 1qb.

2.1 Boutte
2.2-2.4 run at qb

Richardson @ 2.2, Bryce @ 2.3

Easy to be bold in January (but mostly chasing the cheat code with Mahomes on board).

Easily Young in any SF.

I'd trade 1.1 in a rookie draft.
He's gonna get me 20-25 points and some random rookie is going to need time to develop.
Murray will be good for at least 8 years and I don't know when the rookie will be able to match his point total.
I have a strong affinity for running QBs giving me an edge over many others. I'd discount this some but using a grain of salt for sure because I do think people are too quick to take on a three year (FF) plan and discount a veteran.
I got what's his name, Lions top rookie WR...he didn't play enough (known injury) for me to have confidence in 2023 so I'm figuring a breakout and then 2024 I can count on him. Murray will have a heckuva lot of points by the time he's producing.

I would hope you wouldn’t trade Bijan for Kyler in a 1QB league.

Hell, I wouldn’t do it in SF.

Even in a 2qb league, I'd deal murray for the 1.1

Interesting. I have a 2.01 in SF.

I wonder if the owner would take that - I am QB-starved, and would love to take only 1 QB this draft and get the best 2 RB and my WR1.

I'm very much not a Murray fan, but his production, when healthy, is potentially top 5 FF QB. A new coach might help bring more out of him - I've not been impressed with AZ's coaching in years. Kingsbury was meh.

Late 1st/early 2nd in 1QB. I'd take him over Young/Stroud.

Possibly losing Hop is a massive hit (look at his Hop/no Hop splits), but I think they'll invest in another WR in draft at some point (if do deal Hop)

Its really tough to say right now. So much depends on the HC hire. I've been of the belief that Kingsbury was the worst HC in the NFC by a wide margin. So even with Hopkins likely leaving, its possible Murray plays better.

The knee is an issue, as he's unlikely to be ready for week 1, so that makes his value more precarious if a team is dealing to a team that is weak at QB, or somebody who can afford to be more patient.

At the moment, I'd say 2.1 is certainly a pick I'd deal for Murray right now, but I'd be hard pressed to go too much higher than that with the information we have now.

Not sure what I would give/take as all leagues are so different but I would trade for him now and hope the Cardinals sign Sean Payton.

I would give up a mid to late first, say 1.07-1.14 for Murray. As a fantasy QB, he’s still in the top 7 and has plenty of QB1 seasons ahead of him, with the potential to be top 5.

I would be a buyer in this situation. The running ability more than offsets the average passing ability.

I think he is better than an average passer. Very accurate, has shown ability to press the ball downfield, solid INT%...the biggest knock I see in his game is his TD% is light. That might have a bit to do with his running in short scores but guys like Lamar and Allen do that as well and still find the end zone on passes at a higher rate.

I would save the pick and NOT deal for Murray ever, at all.. I would be looking to take a 3rd or worse pick for him just to let him go,. or, waive his butt. he's a useless as teets on a bull. you know this. he got paid, he's not` trying` ever again.

I'm fine with a "let him be some other team's problem" strategy with Murray in 1QB. But not even kicking the tires if there's a value to be had from a manager as down on him as you are would be a dereliction of duty in superflex.

I do think there's enough missing in the leadership department that there's a possibility that other NFL teams won't be banging down the door to make him a starter if we reach point where Arizona wants to wash their hands of him. So I can definitely see not going nuts on a superflex offer.

OL, WR, RB, Coach, Knee, Attitude are all issues. In 2qb sure but I’m avoiding. I was a Kyler lover until this year. I want nothing to do with him. Aaron Donald broke him. Even his good games last year were all late points. Hated watching him. His coach was definitely part of the problem but I don’t trust a less running Kyler. I actually hope he proves me wrong.
