So many teams could use a WR like Hakeem Nicks and the Giants don't seem like they are going anywhere this year and since Nicks is likely going to be lost in free agency it makes a lot of sense for him to be traded.
In the AFC the only teams that are in-it and could really use a boost at the receiver position are New England and Baltimore.
- New England Lots of drops that nearly cost them the win Sunday, injury to Amendola, their leading receiver is only averaging 10.02 yard a reception (Nicks 17.68 per catch). Don't see them making a serious run in the post season with the current WRs on the club. Never liked Amendola because he is injury prone and doesn't play, Nicks gets injured but he plays
- Baltimore they got nothing behind Torey Smith
- NY Jets is it the WRs or the QBs? Not sure acquiring a WR is the solution but they might be in play
- Cincinnati they have a few young guys, Sanu, Jones, but they also have, Gresham, Eifert, and AJ, so they are not hurting
- KC aren't using their wideouts now, doesn't seem to be a priority
- IND depends on how long they feel Wayne will play but if he's there then they seem ok at WR
- TEN Without Britt they are just ok so they might make a lo-ball offer
NFC
- Philly but they wouldn't trade within division if they had other offers
- Washington 'see above'
- Seattle I think they will get Harvin back but they could really use someone
- San Fran They get Crabtree back soon and already traded for Boldin
- Rams I think they have terrible WRs but they've invested a lot in drafting young guys so they'll probably stick it out
- Detroit they have made investements to find someone opposite Mega for years so why not trade?
- Pack don't seem to make moves even though they are in an injury bind, they are loaded at WR when healthy
- Carolina it was mentioned in the thread that he'd like to go there and Steve Smith is 34
- Atlanta 1-4 so they're out of it, even though Julio is out for awhile when he and Roddy are back they are fine at WR
It depends on what NY is asking and what teams are offering but it seems that the following teams would be most logical trading partners based on need and curernt playoff run.
NE, BAL, DET
But as mentioned Carolina is a team that didn't immediately come to mind but if Hakeem has any say in the matter then it is a logical landing spot.
Since Hakeem doesn't seem in the Giants plans I hope he lands in a good spot and it works out for everyone, Giants, Nicks, whatever team he may get traded to.
