LaFell, Gettis, Armanti - what's the shark move here? (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

After attending Panthers camp, ESPN's Pat Yasinskas observed that fourth-year WR David Gettis isn't the same player he once was.
Gettis flashed with a 37/508/13.7/3 stat line as a sixth-round rookie in 2010, but tore his ACL the following year and has appeared in just two games since. The knee reconstruction may have cost him his deep speed, which was Gettis' calling card. He currently appears unlikely to last beyond final cuts.

That's what I figured after watching him play last year. Too bad because he looked like a future stud in 2010.

Rotoworld:

The Charlotte Observer believes David Gettis is competing with Kealoha Pilares and Joe Adams for the Panthers' final receiver spot.
Gettis has a big opportunity Thursday night against the Eagles; he's going to see plenty of snaps with receivers Adams, Domenik Hixon, and Armanti Edwards not expected to suit up. The fourth-year receiver caught three passes for 56 yards in the preseason opener, and will look to build on it. Gettis has one year left on his rookie contract, but hasn't been the same player since 2010.

Chances are Carolina will be behind a lot and will have to throw the ball plenty.

Assuming Steve Smith leaves as expected, what is the shark move here - LaFell, Gettis or Armanti?

Or can the Panthers afford to spend another pick on a WR?
Shark move is to avoid that awful group.

Domenik Hixon is the #3, I think. Armanti being #4, and Ginn #5. But it's close and all will probably play. None should be rostered save for deeeep leagues (or Ginn in return ydg leagues), until there is more clarity. Only clarity I have right now is that LaFell is #2 and he sucks.

Gettis was waived/injured. He pulled a hammy week 4 of the preseason.

He looked the best of this sorry bunch to me, so of course the Panthers waived him.

I thought the same but couldn't find anything current.

For the most part, this article summarizes my own thoughts on Hixon. He is joining a new team and barely played or practiced.

Coach called Armanti camp MVP which I believe is a made-up title not something they give out each year; it was just to accentuate how well he did.

None of these are current though which makes me wonder.

For fantasy purposes my guess is it would be Ginn

I was thinking he could be a dark horse. The one thing he hasnt had in his career is a qb that can really throw it down the field and help utilize his speed so maybe its a good fit with the Panthers
