LaFell's Breakout Game? (1 Viewer)

Playing the high powered offense Saints, you figure Carolina will be forced to throw a lot to keep up. Which should give more targets to LaFell. Especially with Steve Smith double teamed should leave LaFell in single coverage..

Should I start LaFell with confidence as a flex or as a #2 WR?

My receivers are Fitz, Julio.

My rb's are Spiller, Sproles, and McGahee (as my flex)

Didn't they abandon the run last week? Haven't the pundits been saying that they needed to run more?

Personally sceptical on LaFell, maybe because I'm plying the guy I traded him to this off season ;)

Was at the game yesterday and you can tell immediately that Newton has a connection with LaFell that isn't there with the rest of the WR corp including Steve Smith. If I had him, I'd start him.

Newton doesn't have a connection with Steve Smith? That's a bit of a jump just because you happened to be present for one game where Lafell was heavily used. As someone who has attended every home Panthers game since Newton joined the team, the connection with Smitty is really strong. The Saints had double coverage on Smith most of the game, which opened up things for Lafell. Smith still managed to pick up 100+ yards though, so there isn't much to complain about there. Lafell AND Smith have both become trusted receivers for Newton, and that's a good thing. Olsen is in that discussion as well, even though he wasn't used too much yesterday.Lafell will continue to get the opposing teams #2 CB and rarely see double coverage...so he should be able to take advantage of that and have solid WR2-3 production.
