Get used to the bench, Patten!
Damn, what a great bye week start for Moore!!!Get used to the bench, Patten!
The first half isn't even over and I'm already an idiot. Plus I benched Brees. arg!protoslacker said:I like Meachem better. He was a late 1st round draft pick by Sean Payton and is bigger and faster than Moore.
He looked good in preseason play. If he doesn't make it now he's never gonna make it.

Last year, when he got in, he produced. I couldn't justify keeping him in my select 14, but I wanted to. Kind of forgot about him come draft time, and with Meachem looking better in preseason, he became an afterthought 'till Colston, Shockey and now Patten went down. Snatched him up and started him today I think he's earned enough respect to be at least a contributing #3 after this, if not supplant Patten outright. We already knew Brees liked him. Now Brees has proven it to all.Obviously he's having a huge game today - How do you guys see Moore's value going forward?
Ditto. This thread was what prompted me to pickup Lance off the WW and start him this week even though I already had Henderson on my bench. 26.5pts and counting
I also have CJ2 & Holmes. I would not start Moore over CJ2. I'd start him over Holmes (depending on matchup) until Colston comes backAfter benching him last minute this week I'm wondering what his value will be the coming week or until Colston gets back. Worth start as a WR#3 of #4? Currently have Moss, Calvin Johnson and Holmes at WR/TE with Cooley, Rice, Henry, R. Brown and filling in at the #4 spot. I really needed his points this week as I am up against the best team in the league.
This is the reason I opted not to pick up Moore. I think until Colston gets back they are just going to spread the ball around too much. Though this is two weeks straight where he has gotten a lot of targets, so maybe it's a trend.Either way, as a Colston owner, watching what Brees is doing with limited weapons I can't wait for MC to get healthy.Cabby said:After benching him last minute this week I'm wondering what his value will be the coming week or until Colston gets back. Good hands, good routes - checkMeachem not the #1 - check7 for 90 - check5th reply of the thread and I was pretty much right on. atsselfonback:I like him. Good hands, seems to run crisp routes, and Brees has connected with him many times in crucial situations. I've always thought he should be given a real shot at being #2 opposite Colston but it just hasn't materialized with guys like Henderson and Patten getting preference. I haven't been able to read up about the team as much as normal this week, but I'd be surprised if they really trot out Meachem as a true #1. I suspect there will be a heavy rotation with all three guys (Meachem, Henderson, and Moore) getting the top reads. Something like 7 for 90 would be the ceiling on Moore, I think. Pretty good PPR numbers.

I agree. I like Moore but I think his window of opportunity is short. He's had two big games the past two weeks mainly because Patten has been hurt. If Patten can return for the Monday night game against the Vikings, that lowers his value. When Shockey and Colston return that lowers it and probably removes it entirely. I do think he's a good guy to have on your bench in a larger league and if Patten can't go this week I think he'll do well again. But I don't see him as a long-term answer if you're looking for WR help.Unless I need him to start becuase of injury. I'm packaging him to get an upgrade or selling him outright. I just don't see one player putting up the same numbers every week. Next week it will be Bush in the passing game, the following week it will be Henderson then Meachum, etc. Then Eventually Colston will come back and take the possession targets.

You can maybe take the view that Moore's production takes a hit once Colston returns. Perhaps, Shockey as well. IMO, not for David Patten. Patten does not have the body of work to displace Moore. Moore has leapfrogged him in the pecking order in my view.I agree. I like Moore but I think his window of opportunity is short. I'm not so sure. Patten has been reasonably productive when he's been the starter the past two seasons. And when Colston got hurt, it was Patten - not Moore - who got the nod as the starter. Moore didn't do anything really until Patten got hurt. Then his production spiked significantly. Past history and recent history suggests that if Patten is healthy, he'll return to the starting lineup and be more productive than Moore.Maybe this past week's game will change the pecking order. But I'd be surprised if it did.Wilbur Wood said:You can maybe take the view that Moore's production takes a hit once Colston returns. Perhaps, Shockey as well. IMO, not for David Patten. Beat writer Jeff Duncan believes that Lance Moore "has played his way into the No. 2 receiver spot" for the Saints. Duncan calls Moore "basically a younger, faster version of (David) Patten," and it sounds like he'll keep a starting job when Marques Colston returns. That would also push Devery Henderson down the depth chart. The Saints' beat writers nailed Moore starting Week 4 over Robert Meachem, so they'd be hard not to trust here. Clearly, Moore's become valuable fantasy property.Coach was very pleased with how Moore stepped up when needed due to the injuries. Brees stated that Moore is always staying after practice to take throws from him, and Drew has 100% confidence in him. David Patten played early on, but had to leave the game for good when he aggravated his groin injury. With the way Moore played, I don't see how he could be removed from the starting lineup even if Patten was at full strength.
Dropping Driver is your only option? How short are your rosters?Should i drop driver for moore?
At the very least you could use one of the two WRs to upgrade another part of your team by trade?I have an interesting decision of my own. As I mentioned, I already have Brees and Moore. Well, I have a chance to get Colston by giving up Marvin Harrison straight up. I normally don't like all the eggs in one basket, but what a basket it is! How much fun would it be watching Saints games? And they never have anything wrapped up come fantasy playoff time, so you know they'll all be on the field.(There's not really a question in there... just typing out loud.)
Yeah, I've looked at all the rosters but I haven't come up with any possibilities yet.At the very least you could use one of the two WRs to upgrade another part of your team by trade?I have an interesting decision of my own. Keep me posted. I'm especially interested to know what Moore ends up netting people.Yeah, I've looked at all the rosters but I haven't come up with any possibilities yet.At the very least you could use one of the two WRs to upgrade another part of your team by trade?I have an interesting decision of my own. I don't see how it can be anything other than a great matchup.- New Orleans doesn't run the ball that well. - Minnesota stops the run well with the big tackles. - Despite adding Jared Allen in the offseason, the Vikes have shown no pass rush. - Brees rarely even gets touched, even though he throws a million passes. Drop back, plant the foot, get the ball out.I don't see any way Brees doesn't tear up that pass defense.I hate to chase last week's #'s, but do you think minny might be a good match-up for him, like it turned out to be for anthony gonzalez?
PPR or not, Moore is the call simply because he'll see more targets. That said, Meachem is the one more likely to catch an 80-yard TD.ok, like last week, who would you prefer (ppr) --- moore vs meachem? I think moore again.
I landed Moore on waivers last week in 2 leagues. I loved the production I got from him, but I have a feeling it will take a few more weeks (especially depending on how well he performs with Colston's return looming) before we can get an accurate gauge of his value. Right now, I wouldn't expect him to net what he is probably really worth given he was likely a recent waiver pick up...kind of reminds me of what people may have had to deal with with Welker last year before (if) they decided to move him.Keep me posted. I'm gonna sit on him, anyway. People get too "SELL HIGH" crazy sometimes. After Eddie Royal's insane week 1 performance, I turned him into Brandon Jacobs. I could not pass that up, but if the offer didn't come along I would have been happy to hold onto him. A good "sell high" would be if Greg Camarillo has a 100-yard game, and you can move him for another player with a pulse. When pedestrian players in bad offenses have a good game... MOVE THEM. Lance Moore is a talented guy. I've been watching him since he was at Toledo. He just never got a shot until now. Why trade a guy who figures to remain the starting WR in a dynamic offense? Don't worry about Colston's return. Colston will help (by dictating that coverages be rolled towards him) as much as he'll hurt (by commanding more targets than Moore).I landed Moore on waivers last week in 2 leagues. The latter, as I outlined above. All you guys that are high on Moore, do you see him as having value for just a couple of weeks? Or do you think he's going to continue to start and produce once the Saints' other receivers get healthy?
...because I traded for Colston 2 weeks ago in 1 league and I drafted Colston in the other I love the Saints' passing offense this year and I feel there will be more than enough to go around once Colston returns - I'm just not wild about starting 2 players on the same team (let alone at the same position) at any given time. So if Moore can manage to produce for the next few weeks, and he then affords me the opportunity to create a package that allows me to upgrade elsewhere then he'll have more than done his job as a waiver wire pick up for me. Now, that's not to say that I believe that Moore will lose value or stop producing once Colston returns, I just feel that even if I can take a lateral step by moving Moore, it allows me to diversify my team a little bit better.Lance Moore is a talented guy. This isn't the Chiefs or the Rams. I'd be totally cool starting Brees and Moore and Colston each week. I really feel there's enough to go around, especially because the Saints defense will never stop anyone. I'm already starting Cutler and Marshall every week. The more players I can have who play on great offenses, the better I'll be. So far, so good. 4-0, and leading the league in points. :knock on wood:...because I traded for Colston 2 weeks ago in 1 league and I drafted Colston in the other I love the Saints' passing offense this year and I feel there will be more than enough to go around once Colston returns - I'm just not wild about starting 2 players on the same team (let alone at the same position) at any given time.
