Lance Moore (1 Viewer)

Definitely underrated. He is WR18 in my league right now and I have started him since Week 4. I worry about his touches going forward with Bush coming back but I still think he produces at a WR3 level the rest of the season. Not bad for someone not drafted in most leagues before the season started.

Moore is looking good so far with Colston back in action...
Amazing the lack of respect he still gets. Just this past week in this forum, people are talking about dropping him, or saying he's availavble on the waiver wire in their league. That's crazy talk. What more does he have to prove?Moore's point totals the last seven games in my PPR league:298164211924
I have somehow talked myself into benching him the last couple of weeks. Hasn't hurt me yet, but I can't see how I can do it again.
I've started him every week since week 4 when I picked him up, but am thinking of benching him this week against Green Bay.

colston/brees are out of sync.
Or is it that Brees is simply throwing to the open guy? You'd expect Colston to get a lot of attention when he comes back and it wouldn't surprise me if he's seeing double coverage or seeing coverage roll over to him now that he's back on the field.A high target count with a low number of catches would look to me like "out-of-sync". How many targets have Moore and Colston gotten respectively since Colston has been back? If Moore is getting similar targets, I think you have to assume Brees trusts him and respects his game. You cannot underestimate how important that is to Moore's value going forward. In fact, we may need to consider how the emergence of Moore is going to negatively affect everyone else's targets. I think of Brees as being a smart QB who's going to make good decisions with the ball. Bush gets targets, but he also gets attention. The same with Shockey. I don't think Brees is the kind of QB who is going to zero in on a player and force the ball into him when better options are available. The more star caliber weapons the Saint's have on the field to keep the D's attention, the better are Brees's chances of exploiting what the D gives him by finding Moore. In that way, I think Moore can be very Wes Welker like.

I hope you all sold high on Moore w/ Colston returning this week.I was able to trade him straight up for Roy Williams. Thats how you flip it right there. Take risks! See the big picture.
Maven to the red courtesy phone.....Maven please pick up the red courtesy phone.......

And, I did it again, this time I bought the Jamal Lewis hype vs Houston. Perhaps next week, I'll have learned my lesson.

Who be rollin' with Lance Thursday night?

I already have Brees, and I heard something about icy conditions in Chicago? Gotta sleep on this one....

Bush's return is killing his value, and Thomas being an effective runner isn't helping.

What a time for Moore to tank. On my bench for every 20 point performance, til I killed his value by starting him.

Watching the Atlanta game, it does seem inevitable that Bush and Shockey are going to take targets from Moore. I'm seriously considering benching him as well, but I don't have anything all that much better.

It was fun while it lasted but he isnt startable in your playoffs. Bush takes at least 2-3 catches and 30-40 yards away from him every week now.

As a Saints homer living right smack dab in the middle of the city I will tell you that yes Lance Moore will lose value. I would sell high. Colston will be the primary Target, Shocky will get the red zone and saftey blanket looks.David Patten when he returns will be #2 followed by Meachum who will get better every game and eventually beat Patten. Followed by Moore /Henderson followed by Copper. If the guys I listed in front of Moore are healthy, he takes a back seat and doesn't have near as many opportunities.
Damn I hate bump threads. Most of the time I am right on the Saints but this year I am 0-2. First Pierre Thomas and now Lance Moore. I eat my crow X 2On the bright side I am a Saints homer and although the Saints have no chance this season, if they get some folks healthy and make a few more defensive players and the coach learns not to be Mike Martz and actually sticks to a balanced attack then I like the Saints chances next year and Pierre and Moore will both be a big part of that.

I'm really stuck on Moore this week. He has stunk the last two weeks, but Brees really seems to like him. I have been riding him for the last month. I'm very tempted to start Breaston or Hixon over him this week.

Me too. That big TD drop didn't exactly inspire confidence, tho.

I don't the cold night in Chicago, but logic would dictate a bounceback for Moore tomorrow. I'm guessing there's a good chance the saints will be trailing, opening up the underneath and intermediate for Moore and you've got to simply think the Saints will look to reintegrate him. Could be wishful thinking certainly, but I think he'll put up 7 grabs, 70 yards and a TD this week.

As for Curtis, that concussion worries me, along with the fact I think Philly will be up early and off to the races in that game. I don't see them pushing the enevelope with the guy.

Did you guys happen to watch the saints last game? Lance was hardly in any of the offensive packages going in. It seemed like when ever Bush was in Lance was out. I just saw that Lance was on the sidelines a lot of the time. However when he was in the game Brees did look for him but since Shockey and Bush are back Lance has not got the looks like he had before, Brees has too many weapons now. I have Lance on my team and I am sitting him, I also have Roddy White and Brandon Marshall starting and I am starting Marvin Harrison due to the matchup with Detroit. If i do win my next game... do you see who the Saints are playing?....Oh yeah... Detroit and did I mention I also have Brees and will be starting Moore in that matchup if I make it that far. I can only wish

:headbang:Holy crap... are you ME?You have almost my exact roster. This week, I am starting:BreesWhiteMarshallHarrisonand my 4th WR comes down to Moore or Holmes (with Avery and Curtis as VERY longshots)........

I am debating between Moore, Walter, Bess, and Bryant. I need 2 of them in a non ppr league. Each one of them is boom or bust from week to week. Right now I have Moore and Bryant in there but I am sure that will change.

As for Moore's matchup...tough for him to get his touches with Colston, Shockey, Bush, and Thomas all involved. Bears pass D is suspect and you know they will keep a spy on Bush. That may loosen the defense even more...

I'm rolling with Breaston over Moore. My league also rewards return yards so that factors into my decision. Seems like there is too many mouths to feed in that offense now.

Yeah except for when he couldn't stay on his block long enough for Bush to get that long TD run.

It looked as though Bush ran into Moore on that one though. Raider Nation, who are your running backs? I have Chris Johnson, Barber, Hightower, and Deanglio Williams... if you have those players then I think you are me.

Well, as a lot of people who are obviously smarter than me said, Moore's days as a viable fantasy option are gone. Every 20 point effort went on my bench, the last 3 have been under 10, and that's in a PPR. I ignored the signs. I are not smarter than a 5th grader.

He didn't even seem to be on the field for half the plays, and Brees doggedly threw to Colston whether he was open or not.

Brees was AWFUL last night...and Sean Payton's playcalling was even worse. He had Mecham and Henderson in on almost every passing play, despite them dropping passes and not being possession WRs (like Moore is). Just doesn't make any sense. Moore had a few nice grabs and still couldn't get on the field.

Saints deserve to lose...idiots

I hope this one doesn't cost me. I started Moore last night thinking he had to bounce back. If I survive, he's relegated to the Brandon Stokley, Mark Clayton end of my bench.

Started Moore last night and was not happy to see how few plays he was on the field. Meacham and Henderson both suck. Why they were getting more PT was maddening.

I'm pretty much toast after last night because of this low point total.

Yeah I'm kicking myself over this one. I don't have the luxury of having a 2 pt effort playing vs the team I am this week. I couldn't believe Payton's playcalling last night. He's usually pretty good. Maybe his brain froze.

Detroit and then home in the dome. If you survived Sir Lance-not-alot last night, better days are coming.

Now just I just need to survive!

We could use a few dings on Bush, their season is shot, maybe he sits and then you get Brees going for the record.

Oh great, that's right. I'll have to fight myself benching him against detroit. Thanks a lot, bub.

Put me in the boat with the people who don't understand why Lance Moore is not getting the attention he deserves.

He's been a sure-handed receiver this whole season and now, when you need him most, you force it in to Colston and try to hit stone hands Henderson?

Lance Moore should be the #2 receiver on that team, hands down. TEs dropping easy passes, Henderson dropping easy passes, and what does Lance do? Nothing, just catch every damn thing you throw at him. Very Wes Welker-ish, and in this offense, someone like that should be golden, since there is no "Moss" type player that can take the spotlight. The passing offense should run through Moore and Colston, with a little Bush sprinkled in if he's healthy. Henderson CANNOT be counted on.

That call to go wide right on 4th and inches was horrible. Prob cost the season. Nice one Payton.
