Lance Moore (1 Viewer)

He always seems to be a favorite of Drew around the goal line. While I don't think Brees gets 46 td's again, he did throw 8 of those to Lance, even though Colston and Graham were in the picture (all thought lance did have one big game when colston was out). Now Meachem is gone and all though Brees figures to gives more targets to Colston, Graham, Sproles, etc..you would figure Moore gets a couple of those too. Moore played at a 59/717/9td pace last year. Give him a couple of Meachem's yards and receptions, and it think 65/850/8 is completely reasonable, which would make him a very solid mid-tier wr (he finished wr33 in my ppr league last year, which is basic scoring outside of 2 pt bonus for 100 yards). He's not a sexy pick, but going pick 109 there is some value.

Probably a decent BYE week fill in or a low end #3. I can see some decent weeks here and there, just not consistent. He's at least option #4 in their offense.

A few of those redzone TD's were acttually jump balls. That surprised me. Theres room for Bree's to to have another 1000 yard receiver but there's still Arington and Henderson.

Not that he can't, and its not that he won't become valuable if Graham, Colston or Sproles misses a lot of time, but Brees completed 20 more passes last season that his 2nd best year and Moore actually had the lowest # of rec/game of his 3 healthy seasons in NOR. Graham and Sproles overlap in skill set but were targeted much more. I don't see a reason why Meachem's loss would translate into Moore production.

The #4 receiver in NO (by receptions) the last 4 years has caught 52, 41, 47, 47 and 48 balls. It doesn't look good for a sudden burst from that spot without an injury.

who's wr2, Moore or Henderson ?
Doesn't matter to Brees. We make these assumptions as if one player will get all of Meach targets.

There was a thread a few years ago that showed a big spike in Moore's stats whenever Reggie Bush was out. I'd guess a similar dynamic now exists with Sproles.

Moore was the 28th ranked WR over all of last season in PPR having missed 2 games outright and limited in a couple others. I don't think any of the other NO WRs will have an impact on him one way or another- Toon isnt built like a slot receiver. Moore is essentially a poor mans Wes Welker, he's going to get his catches because of his connection with Brees. I don't see his upside clicking up much this year (maybe a touch if Graham draws tighter coverage), but it doesnt really need to, he's a reasonable WR3 and a perfect WR4. You plug him in for a bye and he could blow up for you, but at worst is likely to outperform other bye week fill ins. I'd be careful about overpaying given some more dynamic choices (especially young guys), but if I need reliability over a home run, Moore is a definite option.
