Last Minute Ski Trip (1 Viewer)

I'm sure this has been posted before, but we live in Illinois and need to get out for a quick trip after the holiday.  Does anyone know of a reasonably priced ski in/out lodge/resort?  I've looked in the U.P. (Michigan), I've looked at Colorado.  We would be open to driving anywhere to get there.

I used to go as a kid to Indianhead in Michigan, but have never taken my family as an adult.

They are new.  I am the only one with experience, but both kids are teens that learn things fast.
To be honest then it probably does not matter to much whether you go to Colorado or stay in the midwest. You could save yourself some serious money and driving time as well.

I do not have any recommendations in the midwest though, but literally you cannot go wrong when first starting out. Even if they are fast learners they will be on the blues or easy blacks for the first few trips. They do not need the terrain that is offered in the rockies.

I would just start researching packages through google and pick a resort. The good thing is that you can choose a different one next year and in 2-3 years they may be able to appreciate skiing in the rockies. I learned to ski in South Dakota in junior high and i remember having a blast and even 15-20 trips in I still enjoyed skiing on a small hill.

this.  zero reason to spend more money and time than needed.
