Late breaking credible draft rumors (1 Viewer)

I can't say how I know, but the patriots draft a QB today.
If so, that will mean a Mallet trade is eminent, or done.
It's a smart move. Brady has 203 years left in todays NFL. The guy they draft will be ready when Brady retires, If he isn't the answer, they try again in 2015 to get the replacement.

If they can rip off another team for Mallet who they will let leave at the end of the season, it's a plus.

That's a lot of years left for Brady.

239 is the new 40

Not a rumor just one thing following another....gotta figure that Michael Roos can be had in trade. An excellent tackle but he's 32. They signed a RT this offseason and just drafted Lewan.

It's not exactly common to have a high draft pick lineman to learn behind someone for a year in an Aaron Rodgers type vein but for linemen.

Lots of rumors. Texan's might trade, what trades were attempted last night but didn't work out, who might be the target of your team, lots of things here by Sports Illustrated.

Talked to #Bama doc Lyle Cain about Cyrus Kouandjio, who is off many boards. Said: No short-term concerns for cartilage wear. Only long-term

Per Bama doc Lyle Cain, Cyrus Kouandjio doesn’t even notice his knee issues during practice, rarely misses work. In 5-6 years, may be issues

Team to watch for #Bama OL Cyrus Kouandjio: #Redskins. They wouldn’t have taken him in 1st round (if they had a pick). Can handle it in 2nd

Two names who could come off the board much earlier than anticipated today include receiver Jordan Matthews and guard Trai Turner.

Cornerback Bashaud Breeland, expected to be selected somewhere in the late part of round two, could take a tumble down draft boards. I’m told Breeland has recently had several run-ins with the law, most of them minor infractions. Included was an arrest for driving without a license and exceeding the speed limit; evidently Breeland was clocking over 100MPH when police tracked him down. Breeland’s classroom habits are also a concern. The number of incidents has sent up red-flags in war rooms as teams question the cornerbacks maturity.

...Our friends at College Football 24/7 have you covered with a lengthy list of the best remaining prospects as well as a second-round mock draft.

Gregg Rosenthal also has the best fits for the biggest names left on the board.

Around The League's Marc Sessler and Dan Hanzus will be at Radio City Music Hall for the second and third rounds on Friday night. Here is the latest buzz before the excitement flows again:

» There is a lot of interest from teams seeking a trade into the early second round. Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys are a team to watch on Mizzou defensive end Kony Ealy. Rapoport reported on NFL Network's "2014 NFL Draft Kickoff" that Boise State pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence is another option for Dallas. Jerry Jones' club is looking to make a big move to help the beleaguered front seven.

» Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr will be under consideration at No. 36 overall. Owner Mark Davis is a big fan, reports NFL Media's Albert Breer.
» Sam Bradford is unlikely to face competition from a second-day draft pick. General manager Les Snead told SiriusXM's Mad Dog Radio on Friday that he wants his second-round pick to play more snaps than a backup quarterback.

» On the hunt for more picks, the Redskins are reportedly listening to offers for No. 34 overall.

» According to Pro Football Talk, there is buzz in league circles that the Texans have their eyes on Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with the opening pick of the second round.

» Now that they have Taylor Lewan capable of playing left tackle, there are whispers that the Titans might shop veteran Michael Roos.

» With first-round outside linebacker Marcus Smith now in the fold, the Eagles are expected to trade pass rusher Brandon Graham.

» Alabama tackle Cyrus Kouandjio is off the boards of roughly 20 teams due to long-term medical concerns about cartilage in his knee, Rapoport reported on "2014 NFL Draft Kickoff." One team to watch on Kouandjio, is the Redskins, per Rapoport.

How many years would he have in yesterday's NFL ?

2014 NFL Draft: Rumor Roundup on the Draft

May 6, 2014, by Arif Hasan http://vikingsterritory.com/2014/rumors/2014-nfl-draft-rumor-roundup-on-the-draft#more-5981

...The St. Louis Rams are very interested in trading down, and a lot of talk has been about their ability to do that from the #2 spot. They are supposedly high on Johnny Manziel, and that interest is supposed to be genuine.

In the final two rounds, they may also be interested in South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw.
...
Really almost zero evaluation of Connor Shaw out there.

Most interesting thing was this old rumor about the Rams being interested in both Manziel and Shaw. Lo & behold the Browns drafted/signed both Manziel and Shaw.

I thought Shaw looked good tonight. Anyone see any similarities in these players and any cause to think he (Shaw) might become something more in the league? I always thought he was a tough gamer at USC.
