Laurence Maroney Owners (1 Viewer)

Maroney didnt have the type of season most owners had hoped for or expected. And he likely didnt contribute much toward many a post season push. But you drafted the kid for a reason, which bottom line imo is that you thought he was good. He wasnt asked to be good much this season, but he's had his # called quite a bit here the past 4 or 5 games. And he's been pretty good. Just curious how you Maroney owners feel at this point. Do you feel a bit vindicated with his late-season performance, or does it just piss you off? I for one thought he'd bring alot more to the fantasy table for owners during the season than he did. But circumstance prevented that for various reasons. Talk to me about Laurence here lately whether you were a "Kool-Aid" owner or not. Im really curious.

Well, after a lot of speed bumps along the way, my intel that the Pats wanted to rest of Maroney and integrate him more into the offense later in the season seems to have panned out. Of course, fantasy wise that probably didn't help his owners much.

December 1st on, he's accumulated (in total yards from scrimmage):

123/2

18/0 (a game where they hardly ran at all)

104/1

156/1

46/2

162/1

That averages out to 101.5 yards and 1.17 TD per game over that stretch.

I did not own Maroney this year, but watching last night's game made me want to own him next year. He looks good running the ball.

However I have to wonder how he will be utilized next year. With BB you never know what he's going to do and part of me thinks that Brady may be the only Patriot worth owning in a FF league next year, Moss too, if he re-signs.

I don't own Maroney either, but you must feel better after the performance against Jacksonville than if the Patriots didn't run the ball at all or had a RBBC going in the game. If I were an owner, I'd be thinking less of do I have to move him during the offseason to try to get a player with better value.

last night made me feel lot better about Maroney in 08, after trading away grant as my 4th rb for Bowe... even tho grant did well watching Jackson run on the hawks helped too.

i feel Maroney, will be utilized more next year..1) he's healthier, 2) i don't see how the pats keep that super hi output going for 30+ straight games...

The pats won't be pursuing a TD record next year either and may bring the offense back to a human level.

yea he looked good but the question is are they just gonna hold on to him until the end of the year again next year. If so he's worthless in Fantasy
