LB'ers in IDP keeper (1 Viewer)

this is my first year in an IDP league, LB'ers are very valuable as a tackle is worth 2 points in my league, a TD for a rb is still 6 pts.

its a start 3 LBers league and right now my lb's are:

Derrick Johnson

Carlos Dasnby

Marcus Wahington

are these guys solid, and can they each make close to 100 tackles?

You are in good, not great shape. All three play the strong side so they will never have amazing tackle numbers but all three also play every single down keeping them in the "good" category. Did you draft yet b/c there is room for improvement?!?

I agree all though there is rumor that Dansby might move to the middle. Hard to say yet. Who is still available? - I hope you are still drafting especially if you start 3 and there are bye weeks.

please let him move to the middle :D it is a 12 team league, we are in the 11 round right now, available LB's are:

Danny Clark, Aarington, Spikes,Dan (always injured)Morgan, and Channing Crowder) Which of these is worth another pick

Alot of people here might disagree but I really like Crowder and feel he's going to break out soon form Miami. I would pick him above all that you listed.

Danny Clark is good for maybe another season (I have him on a 1 year contract and am counting on him as a starter)

I'm not sure Arrington is going to get many points - Pierce is the man to have in that group

Dan Morgan - buyer beware because of injuries.

There is currently a thread on the IDP forum on Spikes - I'm not sure he can fully recover from his injury but if he does - he is a stud.

My thoughts.

It's not quite fair to group Derrick Johnson into the SLB group. The Chiefs do not interchange their OLB's against each offensive alignment. Since Johnson plays on the left side, he'll most likely be a strongside LB approx 60% of the time (majority of NFL rushes are to the right side). That's the bad news. The good news is Johnson will be a weakside/pursuit LB the other 40% of the time.

Personally, I rank you LB's as...

1 - Johnson

2 - Dansby (if he stays at SLB)

3 - Washington

or

1 - Dansby (if he's moved to MLB)

2 - Johnson

3 - Washington

I would rank:

Johnson

Washington

Dansby

Washington has been consistent year over year in two different teams/schemes. Dansby looked good last year and has potential, but that potential is what Marcus Washington is already realizing.

I would draft Arrington ASAP if he is available.

i would want Lavar, but only if he can get 80 tackles which i doubt he will get.Tackles are worth a lot in this league

All three play the same role in their defense and all are solid. Washington has the track reciord and higher floor right now but Dansby/D Johnson have a higher ceiling.

I will go out on a limb and say that I don't think Dansby's ceiling is higher than what Washington has already obtained.

I was actually somewhat surprised to see that if Hayes has trouble returning from injury, it appears Dansby will stay at the SLB spot.... and I didn't realize that. The depth charts I use show Dansby at MLB, but I do believe now, that this info is wrong. Having said that, Dansby is still going to be a stud in the NFL. He might not rack up the tackles you are looking for, but he has big play LB written all over him. Not very many SLB's are top twenty candidates, but I think he is.

Don't defensive players get points for INT's and forced fumbles, etc? If you only score points for tackles, knock Dansby down.... quite a bit.
