Leading a 14-team league in scoring: My record is now 5-6. (1 Viewer)

I realize that most of you don't care, so please don't post here if you aren't interested in sharing my misery.

This is the thread for owners who have done everything possible, yet are being screwed by the fantasy gods.

:bag:

I am leading my 14-team money league in scoring. Had a solid draft. Made some smart waiver moves, like picking up Colston after Week One and lobbying that he be allowed as a TE.

Yet my team is 5 and freaking 6.

This is the one thing about fantasy football that I hate.

I'm in the same boat, in both my competitive free league and my money league. In the free one I lead total points and am 5-6, and in the money league we're 2nd in total points and 1.5 games behind the wildcard.

I don't really get mad at this sort of thing, since getting good points in both leagues tells me I at least somewhat know what I'm doing.

Hang in there!

Keep it fun -- make your league's last playoff spot the highest total points remaining of non-playoff teams regardless of record.

7-4 and in danger of not getting my division in one leage with 1417 points trailing a guy with 1151 points. My effic is 94% vs 86% for him. It's a 10 team dynasty and I only had one coulda won. My week 14 without a bye looks deadly. If I don't get the bye I'm probably one and done while I project huge numbers in 15 and 16.

Trail the points lead by 11 points despite losing Jordan and McNabb last week and not starting Maroney his last 2 big games and starting him in the others. I should sneak into the 7th playoff slot in a 14 team dynasty. It's a deep team so my effic is only 84% but I only had one coulda won and lead the league in power rank. A slow finish minus McNabb and I may not make the playoffs. Even if I do, it will be a quick exit.

Tied for 3rd in points in another league same format as above. Keep winning after a horrible start while hoping to lose and even with double 0's from Colston and Moss won again this week. Looking at a 5-7 seed now.

3rd in points in a 12 team dynasty totally revamped my lineup midyear. Only 85% effic and 4th in power but had 3 coulda wons and 2 shoulda losts. Started my studs and benched guys like Mike Bell for their periodic big games. Won 3 in a row but only make the playoffs if the worst team in the league beats one of his last 2 opponents and I run the table.

My only 1st place team out of 6 leagues is now my weakest having lost McNabb and Colston and likely fade down the stretch. Currently almost a lock for a wild card if not to keep my division over a team who's outscored me by a ton. That said, the McNabb injury takes me from a bye to needing luck to just make the playoffs with a 7 of 12 redraft power rating.

4-7 and 53 points back of the lead after starting Kevin Jones and Colston last week. FBG's projected I score 170 but I scored 60. Now I need the most talented team to lose to a mediocre team and then me to run the table to maybe make the playoffs on tie-breakers. Even today based on the Trade Dominator I'm #1 in talent. This includes a 146 to 145 loss and 3 other games I was top 3 in points for the week and lost.

So ... in my 6 leagues I lead the league in points against in FIVE of them and for most of the year according to FBG's Lineup Dominator had top 1-3 talent in each.

And you wonder why the fantasy gods are screwing you?

i'm in that boat. Points leader by about 20 points, and my record is 4-7.

3 out of the last 4 weeks, i have put up a score in the top 3 for the week, and the team i played against put up the 1 score. \

I hate matchup fantasy football.

Feel your pain Brother... My points are 1,808 with 2nd place 1533.7 and 3rd 1345... but I have lost McNabb and Gonzo the past two weeks with no QB's available... I am screwed for the playoffs.

I know your pain, believe me. Scoring the most points and having a crappy record has always been my MO. . .until this year. This year I have allowed the least points in the league by a few hundred (standard h2h scoring) and have only scored the 4th most. End result? 10-1 with nobody else in the league better than 7-4.

So I think the law of averages will eventually catch up to you, if you play for enough years. Of course, I'd rather barely get into the playoffs with a bad record and a ton of points than be my current situation.

If you're in a money league, you can do 1 of 3 things...a) suck it up and deal with the fact that the league is set up to bring in luck factors and major drivers b) leave this sort of league c) try to influence some rule changes for next year. If you go with the 3rd option here are some suggestions: 1) get cash payout for total points on season champ...make the Superbowl contenders ineligible and the rest of the league submits lineups through Superbowl week (keeps whole league participating through final week as well). 2) You can give out weekly money to the highest points team each week 3) eliminate head-to-head competition and switch to rules to points and play against the full league each week.

Had same run of luck, started 0-5 with each week facing teams that have defenses scoring 30+. I have rebounded though, 5-6 now, leading league in points, and feel confident that a championship is on the horizon

Exactly. I addition to $$ going to highest reg. season scorer, that person also gets the last playoff spot in their division if they didn't qualify via record.Btw, I'm  that this thread has gone so far without some posting a :ptts:
