12 team 3 division league.

Just noticed that I play a non-division opponent this week, just assumed I'd play the first 3 weeks/final 3 weeks vs division foes

I actually play half my division games during bye weeks.

Does anyone else find fault in this?

If you give any weight to divisional record then yes. The league I commish has the same setup (3 divs, 12 teams) and we always do first 3 weeks and last 3 weeks are divisional match-ups to combat bye weeks affecting these games. The stuff in the middle I try to mix up from year to year, so you don't play the same teams every year. FBG's has a Pretty Sweet Scheduling App in their tools section that does all the hard work for you; just pick the quantity of teams and divisions and state how you want to play divisional matchups and it does the rest.
