I'm struggling with this question...I'm up 72-69 with Romo and Mare going today, my opponent has no players left. I'm thinking of sitting Romo and playing Mare in case there might be a score adjustment. Thoughts?

Play them both.

I would not want anyone to be able to say to me, "Hey, I beat you without a QB and K in the final! How bad was your team?"

You might as well go with Mare in case Romo fumbles twice, throws a pick and gets knocked out of the game in the process.

I doubt Mare gets a minus.

Yeah but he doesn't want to lose on something stupid. Why not sit a QB and not talk trash?

Are you playing for $1,000,000 with people you have never met? Do it..

Are you playing with friends for much less? Don't...

The odds of Romo and Mare combining for -4 are probably in the 1 in 100,000 range...

The only trash out of my mouth will be about the 500 bones I collect...I checked the scoring and it all looks legit so I doubt there will be an adjustment...just in case I think Romo will sit and I'll play Mare. I hope there are no Kicker gadget plays in the Dolphins arsenal.

Does your league deduct points for missed FGs or XPs? Is there a chance that you could get in trouble for starting an invalid lineup? If you answered "no" to both questions, then bench Romo.

You better make sure you don't have something in your rules that says you score 0 points with an illegal lineup.

I posted the payout and this is with friends. The money is nice but 3 years in a row in the final and 2 trophies is what I want. The only reason to play Romo would be to not have anyone come back and throw the fact that I sat player(s) in order to secure the win.If I look at this objectively I would say that I’m being a bit of a chicken#### but in the same breath I think it’s good coaching.

Assuming both QBs and Ks can put up negative points, and assuming your rules don't address this, then do it. This is no time to be a hero.

If it's a friendly league and you're not 100% sure, maybe run it by the commish first. Tell him you're planning on doing it, and just wanted to make sure he has no objections.
