Issue in my dynasty league: Player A said that he submitted his lineup however his starting roster on sunday had six players on bye (Hasselback, Alexander, Bowe, Johnson, Sea Def). He had players on his bench for each of the spots (Braylon, Foster, DEF etc).

Should the players be retroactively started or should he be held responsible for not double checking his roster sunday morning?

TIA

I believe it is the intention of every owner to start players who are not on a bye, unless of course they are tanking or don't want to drop a player on their bench for a replacement. This owner obviously is not tanking and wanted to put a legal lineup in. However, a lot depends on when he notified the commish. If he let it be known that his lineup wasn't right just after the games started, then I say change his lineup. If he waited until after the games were played, then don't change his lineup.

The owner is responsible for his own team. I say "it sucks to be him"

How did he submit his line-up? If you submit a line-up on a site such as MFL, it goes to a conformation page and it's logged in the team's transactions page. It's hard t believe that someone could submit a line-up and not know whether it went through or not.

If you're going to retroactively change anything, you should give him the lowest-possible score using the active players on his roster.

20 year commish here. Same league.

You can't just change the lineup. You lose integrity. Poll the league and get input so it is not just you and Player A. If the league sees it as an oversight, then make the change. Otherwise, don't go there. Player A will learn a valuable lesson.

:2cents: if his lowest scoring lineup beats out the other team, you should switch it. This is only a game. What owners would want to start players on thier Bye week?

He was out of town and unable to check on his scores so it did not come up until monday...

One of the team involved was the comish so this actually seems like a good solution.

Anyone can get an internet connection out of town. I would not change it. You are responsible for your own team. The commisioner is not responsible for your team.

If total points is a consideration for tie-breakers, I'd credit him with the points he would have received, but give him the loss. He gets punished for not checking his line-up, but isn't totally shot due to a potential web site glitch.

Not perfect but no room for his opponent to complain, nor him, really.

I'd allow a retro but as a commish I would have seen it ahead of time and called him to let him know his line up was ####ed up.

Then I don't know that I believe he actually did submit a line-up. I've never submitted a line-up on MFL where it didn't immediately go to the confirmation page.

I am with tikigods here. Because no one tanks in my league, i would have called the guy as well, no matter who it was, b/c i would have known it was just a mistake. As a commish, it is your job to make sure the league runs smoothly.

Mods

Here's another example of your glaring inequities.

And I'm only on the first page.
