League scoring question for CBS (1 Viewer)

I just noticed that my league gave Amendola credit for his fake field goal TD reception vs the Seahawks but not to Harvin's kickoff return last week. Is that bs or standard practice? Seems like it should be consistent ie special teams td's go to just the team and not individual player.

I play on CBS in a few leagues...a fake field goal is technically an offensive play. so it makes sense to credit Amendola for the TD.

You are correct; ST TDs should go to the team, not the individual player (unless your league rules specify otherwise). However, that is exactly what happened in the 2 situations you describe. The Amendola TD WAS NOT a special team play. It was an offensive play. Does your special teams get 3 points for every FG kicked?

IMO - harvin should get the TD and so should Minny ST/DAmendola should get credit for the TD but not the STL ST/D
Unless individual league scoring rules include special teams TDs awarded to individual players, the Harvin return TD would not count in traditional / standard scoring leagues. As others have mentioned, fakes executed by special teamers are still considered offensive plays. For example, if a PK throws a TD pass, he would get credit for a TD pass.

i think harvin and min st/d should get credit and Amendola and Stl St/D should get credit.
That's never been the way it's traditionally been handled in fantasy football, though. It's fine to start a league and score those plays however you want, of course, but unless your league specifically has a rule saying they both get credit, the default assumption is that Min DST gets sole credit for the Harvin return, and Amendola gets sole credit for the TD catch.

I run several CBS leagues and by default Amendola's TD is an offensive play that would only be scored for Hekker & Amendola. Had you started St. Louis's D/ST and Hekker thrown an interception your defense wouldn't have been penalized because it was an offensive play.If your league rewards points to kick returners then it is possible that Harvin gets the TD as well as Minny's D but STL's DST should not get credit for Amendola's TD.

I know of ZERO leagues that scored Amendola's td as a ST/D score. a TD pass is not a defensive score. Sounds like someone started STL D and wants and extra 6 points

CBS does not count individual Special Teams scores unless you manually override the setup.

Amendola's TD was not technically a Special Teams play, so CBS counts it as a regular offensive TD.

Harvin owner in both RTSports and CBS. Both counted as a TD for him and Minnesota. For RTSports, I'm the commish and have set scoring to credit return TD's as counting for both. On CBS, while not the commish, our league decided that the same rules apply. I believe that it is up to your own league about how your scoring is set up. There is an option that must be checked to allow this to happen though. So if your league didn't check the appropriote box, the player-Harvin-wouldn't get credit for the return TD.
