LeBron James (1 Viewer)

After watching both of Bron's games, I'd like to upgrade my ticket on the bandwagon to first class. His understanding of the game at such a young age coupled with his all world physical talent is astonishing. If anything, James appears to be underrated. I'm absolutely blown away. I thought James would struggle to match Amare's rookie season, but this kid is a consistent jumper away from being an All-Star starter.King James indeed.

Thanks for the quick and timely analysis Tommy. I was waiting for your opinion and after reading your thoughts, I'll put my $$ on Carmelo winning ROY.And Bron Bron not even making the Shick! Rookie game.GB the reverse Tommygunz theory. :excited:

Place your bets. This kid is legit. His body is far more NBA ready than Kobe's was at the same age. Similar talent, but LeBron's 6-8, 240 is ridiculous for his age.

Similar Talent??? I don't really remember Kobe, Garnett, T-Mac or any other players straight out of High School playing like this. He has been downright amazing  Right now he looks like a player with the Scoring/Athletic ability of Jordon combined with the passing and size of Magic Johnson. He definately had to many turnovers tonight but with experience he will cut this down and improve the other aspects of his game. I am really shocked out how good he has been so far. I really thought he would only average 12 points, 5 rebs, and 3 assists. I know it is early but right now he looks like he will blow this all away.

Agreed. I wonder if deep down inside there isn't a little piece of LeBron wondering, "Is that it?"All the instincts are there. His vision is extrodinary. His jumper is shaky, but he's an unbelievable finisher.

LeBron's first year stats will dwarf Kobe's, but remember, Kobe was taking BIG shots in the playoffs for a talented Laker team as an 18 year old.

This kid has silly talent. One game into the season and he can't breath before or after the game from all the reporters in his face.

He is playing well already without all the distractions or pressure of the media frenzy. But to add the huge pressure he has with the media and expectations... he's unbelievable... years ahead of his natural development.

Now as soon as he has a bad game or does something wrong, critics will come out of the woodwork. But I won't be fooled, this kid is rediculously talented.

Once he gets a few years of experience under his belt, the sky is the limit. He's still got a couple of years left in his teens!

C. Anthony looks good right now too. Both these kids are better than Kobie was at their age. The only difference is the teams they play on. Kobie has the rings... these guys probably won't be in range of getting a ring anytime soon. That is, unless one was traded to LA. ;)

edit to add who I think is the most overrated athlete ever: Ryan Leaf

The talent jump from his high school competition to the NBA competition is obviously huge. But until he starts getting trapped and doubled, it's almost as if one player already can't stick with him too well. Amazing.

this kid is a consistent jumper away from being an All-Star starter.
Assuming fans still pick the All-Star starters, I suspect he'll be the starter in the East this year even without a consistent jump shot. Jason Kidd can take a spot on the bench.

but his character/ethics were made up by the Church, leading you to believe he was more than just a normal man like you and I
no, the church didn't make up his ethics. There are many churches/historians who credit Christ for his behavior, including the Jews, and the Muslims.

Another game, another dominating performance by the rook. I'm a Suns fan and watched every minute of the game....kid is special, no two ways about it.Cheers

Suns are awsome and I am not mistaken, Stoudomire dominated Tony Parker last year who is an all-star.Lebron played against some sick defenders and played very good.I can't wait till he starts to play the EASY teams :excited:

You don't watch much basketball do you? Well, atleast you're still bandwagoning with the best of 'em :rolleyes:Edit- Realized the kid may have confused Stoudamire and Marbury, I sincerely hope so, for his sake

So now that he's 0-2, you're right? I get it.If he doesn't instantly make his team win the NBA championship he's still over-rated.Another good performance against another good team and you still can't admit you're wrong. You may want to change your signature. You're anything but, when it comes to evaluating NBA talent.

Hrmmm Jordan's Wizards sucked...I guess jordan is overrated. No one man does an army make....wait till Wagner is healthy...and they get another top pick after a slow season again this year...next year they will be playoff contenders....

LeBron is the shizzle, no doubt. Before Tuesday I thought he would be the best player in this draft class; now I know it's going to happen.

LeBron is so much better than Ricky Davis, it's not even funny. Think about that one for a little bit.

Oh, and speaking of Davis, he's not going to need breakfast this morning--not after Cabarkapa shoved the ball down his throat last night.

The Suns actually looked out of sync last night, but I can't argue with the results.

English only in this thread please.8-17 from the field with 7 turnovers. No Thank You.
So basically, you had nothing to say about his FG's or TO's when he shot over 60% from the field two nights ago and had 9 assists with 2 turnovers. But when he has a more "pedestrian night" still shooting over 47%, which BTW is a great %age for a guard, and commits turnovers as rookies do, you'll find fault.Dude, just admit it you don't like the guy so you'll dig and dig for faults in his game until you think you've proved yourself right. Regardless, he still had more points than he took shots. Most coaches use that as a barometer of how effective a guy was on any given night.

Common sense only in this thread please.Jordan's first game: 5-16 from the field, 5 TO.Shaq's first game: 4-8 from the field, 8 TO. How the frick does the biggest guy on the floor turn the ball over 8 times? James is playing PG. You is not two smart.

LeBron is GOD!! He is as good as advertised and I hope they televise all his games. Melo is overrated...but he will still be a star in the NBA.

I hate the NBA.Lebron James is good enough to make me actually watch his games, which is saying a lot.How anyone can say that his 1st 2 games have been disappointing is unreal. And to compare his number to past rookie performances doesn't really do him justice considering he's only an 18 year-old rookie, not even a guy who left college early like Jordan or Shaq. He's amazing.

Well no he isnt God, but it certainly is amazing that people are actually talking about the Cavaliers. Amazing.

He's amazing. He didn't score 50, but he's still amazing. It's only been two games, but to me this is looking like he is the ROY and starting easter conference PG. Again, only two games, but he looks that good.

I'm pretty sure Mr. #### is just fishing at this point, guys. I'd calm down. There's not many bad things you can say about a guy whose stat lines for his first two games ever look like Lebron's do.

One gambling site that I frequent is starting to suspect that the word has gone out from the league that this kid is to be handled gently. Their idea is that the 1st half overs will be a very good play for a while in Cleveland games as teams look to pour it on offensively. I don't know how much stock I put into it right now, but for a team with good defensive guards like Sacremento to let this kid go out there on opening night and put up that performance leaves 2 options:1) this kid is that good2) something has been said to teams about how to handle him. They're not saying that teams should just let him beat them, but that possibly the league has said that no rough fouls will be tolerated.I'm reserving my actual opinion until I see a few more games. Just passing on some information.

I don't think anyone expected the cavs coming off a 17 win even with Lebron to go into arco against a 59 win team and win or beat another playoff team in the suns on the road either. The difference with Lebron is that the Cavs were actually in the game until about 5 mins to go. Last yr, both games would have been over after the first half.

so basically what you're saying is basketball's fake?

I agree

If I were to throw hundreds of millions of dollars at someone, I'd expect nothing less than 82-0.
Well, they haven't. Corporations have thrown close to a hundred million his way, but they just want to sell shoes. Cavs have promised the NBA maximum for a #1 draft pick, like $16 million for four years (or something like that). There's tons of guys making a lot more than James on his contract for you to whine about.

You can have Lebron as your perfect NBA player, give me Shaq when he hit the high point of his career.Simply the most dominating player ever. Since I'm building a prototype it'd basically be everything Shaq is, but with an 85% free throw percentage.
I'll take Yao Ming.BTW, Mr. T is obviously just trying to make a run the at "the best fishing trip of all time". Too bad that title already belongs to :domer:

Are you talking about the guy who's 7'5 but was only able to grab 3 rebounds in Houston's opener? Steve Francis had 4 btw and 6 teammates had more boards than Yao did. Maybe it was just a bad game, maybe Yao lacks intensity, we'll find out soon enough.

Yeah, that's him.But I'll be the first to admit that I'm Asian and VERY biased.

LeBron is not overrated, he's just that awesome.Plus, he's a Saints fan. :D

Cleveland 32-41 .438Cakeboy tends to agree with Mr. Testicle. Cakeboy thinks Bron Bron = all hype.
They are a 1.5 games out of a playoff spot...ya its the horrid East, but come on....without him they're already playin golf. 23+ points, 6+Reb, 6+assists....no one has had this type of rookie season since.....MAGIC. And before him it was OSCAR....

Thought it would be interesting to look back on this thread now that LeBron just became the youngest player ever to log a triple double, has his team in first place, and is playing at an MVP level despite being less than two years out of high school.

He's only getting all this attention because the media has been desirious for a black guy to be a good at basketball, since it has been dominated by white guys since the game was a peach basket on top of a pole.
Does Michael Jordan ring a bell?
