LeGarrette Blount = LenWhale vulture? (1 Viewer)

I'm not saying LeGarrette Blount is going to set the world on fire. He definitely comes with a lot of baggage. The thing that strikes me is the fact that Fisher made a call to bring him to Tenn after he had an "agreement" with SF. If Fisher went to all that effort don't you think he sees a place for Blount as a short yardage power back/4th qtr grinder/possible goal line vulture in the mold of a 2008 LenDale? Is this guy getting any love in rookie drafts right now? Bloom doesn't even have him in his post-draft 100.

Your logic is sound except for the fact that last season, with the original Lendale healthy and on the roster, CJ still got most of the touches. Fisher and Co. are smart enough to know the more they have the ball in Johnson's hands the better their chances are to win. Someone else is likely to score a couple rushing touchdowns this season, but I don't see a real chance for a "vulture" scenario.

Why would you assume that an undrafted camp invitee would have ANY chance of stealing TDs?

He's not much different from any other big RB who gets a tryout. He'll be lucky to make the practice squad. He won't be a fantasy factor AT ALL.

Ringer will be the guy stealing Touches/TD from Johnson. Blount and Stafon Johnson are more camp guys both will be fighting for the 3rd RB spot. Who ever can play on special teams will get the job.

Blount doesn't have much more baggage than Lendale White does. At least Blount has been on the straight and narrow since the sucker punch. Lendale doesn't workout at the combine and then shows up over-weight to his proday and several training camps. He get to camp and starts a brawl after spitting in the face of one of his team-mates. He constantly whines about not getting enough carries and know he is saying the reason the Titans did have a good season was because he did not get the ball.

"I think what happened was in Tennessee they probably got a little too carried away with the Chris Johnson thing. The year before, we were 13-3 when I had 200 carries and we split the rock. Chris went to the Pro Bowl and we had the first-round bye. They did things different the next year and we struggled to make the playoffs. It is what it is. It’s the same offense down here in Seattle. I’m very familiar. I know how to pick up pass protection and stuff like that. The playbook is not what I’m worried about. I’m just worried about the opportunity, and I think that Pete is going to give me a chance.” -- LenDale White

Pete? Really? What an ### clown. Even the media mostly gives the coaches enough respect to call them coach. Maybe I'm a little rough around the edges but I don't care what level you are at calling the coach by their first name is disrespectful and reflects on both Lendale and the brash carelessness and lack of accountability Pete Carroll has for both his players and the game. He will be exposed in Seattle... It's not the only thing that makes me draw that conclusion but it is one of many small things already put on display by the turds formerly of USC.

I had your initial reaction, but considering who the coach is I wouldn't be surprised if the players regularly called him Pete.
