NFL | L. White had positive test?

Sat, 29 Apr 2006 00:23:38 -0700

Scott Wolf, of the Press Telegram, reports USC RB LenDale White reportedly tested positive for an undisclosed drug, according to multiple sources, which could affect his stock the NFL draft. White spoke briefly to a reporter Friday, April 28, but sounded unconcerned about the situation. "(The NFL) ain't worried about it," he said. "The issue's been addressed." Several sources said the test took place at the NFL Combine in late February. "If it's out, it's got to be a Combine test," said a source with knowledge of NFL drug testing. "Some teams also give their own tests but those are at individual workouts and no one releases those."

Must be friends with B Bonds :X Weight gain, only 15 reps. Even his RB coach said the NFL should be worried. I had him #2 on the Colts draft chart. He isnt even on it now..Loser

Sources: White failed drug test

Revelation likely to hurt running back's status for NFL draft

BY SCOTT WOLF, Staff Writer

Former USC tailback LenDale White tested positive during an NFL drug test, according to multiple sources, which could affect his stock for today's pro draft.

White spoke briefly to a reporter Friday but sounded unconcerned about the situation.

"(The NFL) ain't worried about it," he said. "The issue's been addressed."

Word of the drug test spread through NFL circles Friday and several sources said the test took place at the Indianapolis predraft combine in late February.

"If it's out, it's got to be a combine test," said a source with knowledge of NFL drug testing. "Some teams also give their own tests but those are at individual workouts and no one releases those."

The news could not come at a worse time for White, who has not impressed NFL teams since announcing in January he would turn pro.

"If this is true, this late before the draft, that will sink him," said an agent who asked not to be identified.

White's pro day workout at USC was a disaster. He weighed 244 pounds, six more than at the combine, and bench pressed 225 pounds just 15 times. White then failed to perform any other workouts because of a hamstring injury.

Am MRI later determined that White suffered a moderate tear in his hamstring that will sideline him until mid-May and prevented him from running or working

Wow White after the Rose Bowl was the "Man". Now he may be off the board. Sitting at #4 in a Dynasty league looks good only if Indy does not get one of the top 3 RB's.

For awhile there everyone was "mocking" Lendale to the Steelers. I can't believe (if this report is true) that Cowher, who's a character guy, would even look in his direction if they decide to take a running back.

Scott Wolf, of the Press Telegram,
Who tf is this? Not discounting per se, but sounds about as reliable as ESPN.

I could easily see "Lendale White: How far does he fall?" become the story of the draft once we get toward the end of the 1st round.

this is a major story, seems like a real site or organization would be reporting something about it/ I have seen nothing.

I dont know...there is a lot of shady developments around these USC RBs.........De Angelo Williams is looking better and better

MSNBC , repeating the same information.

Former USC running back LenDale White, whose draft stock has been dropping because of poor workouts and an injury, could fall even further down because he tested positive during an NFL drug test, the Los Angeles Daily News reported Saturday, citing several unnamed sources.

White said the situation has been "addressed," the Daily News reported. "(The NFL) ain't worried about it," the running back said Friday, the newspaper reported.

White tested positive at the Indianapolis combine in February, the newspaper reported, citing several unnamed sources.

This news comes on the heels of White's disappointing pro day workout, when he weighed 244 pounds, bench-pressed 225 pounds only 15 times and did not run the 40 because of a hamstring injury.

White also has been unable to work out for teams individually because of his hamstring tear.

White had originally been projected as a top-10 pick.
