This reminds me a bit of my divorce.

I got several emails from people that don't know me and really had no insight into our marriage.  They were so judgmental.  "You are leaving for the wrong reasons."  "You should give it more time."  "You are abandoning your bride.  That's not the right thing to do."

I didn't respond to any of them, but wanted to.

Also vote 3. Having a special needs kid can suck at times but also really rewarding at others.  Can't imagine abandoning my son who needs me more than anyone else in the world. Hope the guy gets all the bad karma coming to him.

I'm with others... Skipping out on a special needs kid is terrible. Imagine what that does to the other kid too, probably resent the special needs sibling bc of their dad... I hope there is no way a judge would let that happen. What a piece of ####.

Need more info to make a judgement.  I'd prefer to get the man's side.  But for 3, I know a family who has a special needs kid, who needed CPR three times at birth.  The father only wanted it done once.  Although there still together I wouldn't have faulted him for leaving.  Now imagine if his wife was a fat #####, and he was in a loveless marriage.  Is it really skipping out when the child should have been dead already.  As someone who has adopted a special needs child, who didn't want too at the time, (because I've seen the quality of life of the above parents deteriorate) I could never call a special needs parent a doosh.  Takes a special person to do that.
