Without giving to much subscriber info out there. Spiller was ranked as a top 15 I believe RB last week with 17-70 and 3-21

seems like the same projections this week just 16-68- and 3-21

Last week they got blown out on the road, they are at home vs a team just fired their coach.

My only question is as a Bills homer, I dont see it. Why the decent stats for a slumping Bills team. It seems to me Gailey is using his former GA TECH player Tashard Choice on all third downs and now even in passing situations.

I can easily see 10-35 and 2-20

Go with you gut..nobody can predict what is actually going to happen.

I watched the Bills game last week and was concerned on how much Choice was involved. I have Spiller on both my playoff teams and as of now I am not sure I can start him. I am deciding between Spiller and Steven Jackson in one league, and between Spiller, Bradshaw, and Mendenhall in another. It is PPR and Footballguys has him projected over all the above right now.

so 1 rush attempt and 1 catch has you worried? The match up and spiller's general lack of production should be the worry. Tashard Choice isnt a worry

It seemed like Choice was in for an entire series at a time. Spiller two series, Choice the next. It just so happens that Choice didn't get too many opportunities wehen he was in becasue the Bills didn't get a first down.

I'm certainly not starting him against Miami--they've been a black hole against RB's in my fantasy league.

Either Lloyd or Spiller for me in PPR.

I'm leaning towards Lloyd despite the STL QB situation. I mean somebody has to catch the ball in STL.

Wow.. i let the Miami defense talk me out of Spiller and into Ryan Grant.

huge mistake.

Spiller is a keeper of mine and i have him under contract for the next 3 years at only a cost of my last round pick. I'm pretty excited about his prospects.. Surely the Bills will go with him and consider trading Fred Jackson.

Fred had a nice season, but Spiller is the future

Spiller is a legitimate talent, but the Bills will NOT depart with Fred Jackson and there is a strong chance that he comes back as the starter next year. We could then see more of a RBBC approach given Spiller's proven productivity and Jackson's increased age.

Spiller had a great day today, and he probably has put me in the finals of my league. But here's the deal with Spiller- in ESPN leagues, you can put him in a WR slot. That's a tremendous advantage, and I may just win my league because of it.

Unfortunately I started Mike Williams over Spiller, but I still might get to the championship. We'll see, sweating bullets tonight.

Huge advantage. Won me my game in 1 league and lost me the game in the other (by leaving him on the bench). I let the "experts" talk me out of it. The more years I play this game (going on 22), the more I realize that's the most misleading term out there.

Fortunately I made it in both leagues I benched him. So what are we thinking about next week vs Den? Den Def is pretty solid, but the Pats seemed to get a ground game going on them.

He has a decent chance of putting up good points next week. Since taking over as a starter, Spiller's productivity has been muted due to the Bills trailing in the second half and thereby being forced to abandon the running game. Denver typically doesn't blow anyone out, so Spiller could still be getting a decent number of touches into the 4th quarter.

I'm just glad they decided to actually throw him the ball. In the previous games they were using Choice alot on 3rd downs which seemed odd unless Spiller sucks in pass protection. If they keep him involved in the passing game, he'll be tough to shut down regardless of the matchups he gets. My team's so bad I didn't have anyone else to start in his place so it worked out well. Sometimes no depth is a good thing...

Are we playing Spiller with confidence this weekend over the likes of Steven Jackson or someone like Ryan Grant

19 touches, 99 yards & .75 TDs per game since becoming the starter.

He seems startable depending on your situation.

I started that mutt M. Barber over CJ Spiller in my flex spot last week (PPR league) and it nearly cost me the game. Barber has basically been replaced by Bell and if he doesn't get a goal line TD, you risk him putting up 2-3 points. Spiller on the other hand is catching the ball and getting most of the work. T. Choice is just there to rest Spiller, not compete for his job. It would be like not starting Ray Rice because sometimes Ricky Williams gets a series.

My flex spot choices are Barber, D. Jackson, and Spiller so I'm clearly going with CJ. If I had a Sproles, R. Bush, or someone like that, it would be different but Spiller is a low risk, high upside start in my opinion.

I had to start him and was at the game. Gailey says hes not going to get over 20-25 touches.... he did this week as the Bills were playing catchup and they gave Fitzpatrick the check down and not get beat deap.

This week vs the Broncos at home..HOPEFULLY doesnt see Denver racing out to a big lead but we shall see.. I think we can expecct 12-56 and 3-20 - solid 10 in PPR with a chance at a Touchdown maybe.

WOULD love for another last week performance!

Thanks for that analysis. I didn't see the game so was really surprised at the points sitting on my bench. Still got lucky enough to win the game in a week I think had some really unexpected results. Debating whether I follow the points this week or not and it's obviously a tough decision. I would have normally expected that a big lead would have the opposite effect.

I have to choose two from Spiller, Helu, and Kevin Smith. If Helu and Smith are healthy, I'll start them both -- but would confidently start Spiller instead if either Helu or Smith appear to be limited for this weekend's championship game.

Gailey said that Spiller is not a 20-25 CARRY back. HUGE difference. Neither was Jackson FWIW. Not in Gailey's system anyway. Jackson only had 20+ carries twice this season. But Gailey uses the RB in the passing game a lot. So 20-25 TOUCHES should absolutely be expected for Spiller, assuming the Broncos don't force a ton of 3 and outs.

i like speedster burner running guys like this and i believe that he will be an awesome player for years to come but he needs to get the ball so maybe he should be traded possibly to the packers

I think you almost have to start him this week...especially in PPR leagues.

I just have to decide whether to sit Chris Johnson or Darren Sproles.

Here is a quote from his coach yesterday.

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey said Tuesday, Dec. 20, that he does not want to overwork RB C.J. Spiller. 'He really didn't play the whole first half, the whole two-thirds of the season. I don't want to put 25-30 carries on him right now,' Gailey said. 'At some point, he may get 25-30 carries, but if he's going to be involved in the passing game, he's going to touch it 15-20 times and that's what he needs to do.'

This worries me because unless he breaks a long run or pass reception, his numbers will be down. I went with D. Thomas over him last week, which was a mistake. I might just go with Spiller this week.

Denver can get at the QB...even if it isn't a designed screen to Spiller, I can see a good number of dump offs or check downs.

I see no reason why 12 - 14 carries and 5 or 6 catches would not provide some really nice value here. Gailey may want to limit his touches a bit, but he also wants to keep his job.
