Lets talk mens premium underwear , shall we? Plus now with socks. (1 Viewer)

I'm not spending $20 for one pair of underwear.
I thought the same, but after suffering several bad heat chafe episodes - I was willing to spend/try about anything (the powders helped but didn't prevent it).
Went down the same road as you. Tried powders/body glide, but the switch to UnderArmour was eventually the cure for chafing, well worth $20 each for me.

Sometimes you can find the athletic boxer briefs (UA/Nike/Reebok) at Ross for half the price.

I got two pair of Duluth for Christmas. I plan on giving the first one a go on Monday.
UPDATE?!!
Tried Duluths a few couple years ago. Eh... nothing that ground breaking.
Having never tried the TJs I love my Dultuths. Like everything about better than the $30 Flint & Tinder's except the F&T waistband is special. Its so nice it makes a compelling argument for that alone.

1 year in with Duluth and there is no stretching , wear & tear minimal. Colors holding up , only exception there is the light blue.

UPDATE?!!
90 minutes in and its like I'm wearing a cloud.

The real test comes when I'm 12 hours in and things get crusty.
when you don't have a full weeks worth of nice undies and have to go back to the old school regulars for a day or two thats where these really hook you in

Dear God, I only have 2 before I will go back to normal boxers.

oh, the humanity!

You speak in jest, but just wait until you have to do laundry just for undies.

Not heavy, but I was blessed with the hyperhidrosis so the moisture wicking athletic underwear (and gold bond, another FBG tip) keep the chub rub/swamp butt at bay.

Not heavy either - though I really need to lose 20lbs, I was built to be skinny like I was most of my life (until I hit early-40s and lived on the road for almost 10 years). I am 5'9" 188lbs but have always sweated a lot.

I pretty much only wear CK undies. Microfiber mostly, but I also have some cotton ones. Also, I only wear boxer briefs or trunks.

The other brand that I have liked in the past is 2xist.

I also need to find the perfect day sock. I've seen a lot going for $15-20 a pop , seems steep there
Smartwool..
I've seen a lot of positive things online about smartwool & darn tough socks but the price scares me. These are $20 at amazon
you can wear them multiple times before washing.. they don't smell, stay dry, and stay tight...
You can, but it's only socially acceptable if you live in a Russian prison with no hope of ever seeing the outside world again.

Based on a thread here, I picked up some Ex Officio boxers and boxer briefs a couple of years ago.

The boxers aren't anything special - just 1% better than any old boxers.

The boxer briefs are a step above anything else I've used.

I'm normal sized (175# at 5-10), and I travel fairly often for work, sometimes to work in the engine room of container ships. It's awful in there, around 100 degrees, and the days are long. The Ex Officios keep me feeling dry and comfortable all day through travel and engine rooms. Cotton boxers or boxer briefs get soggy from sweat and just suck donkey. Also, the ability to just wash them out in the sink with some shampoo and have them smell perfectly fresh helps a lot for packing - I can alternate 2 pairs for a week with no problems, letting one dry all day while I work.

I've tried a couple of similar types of boxer briefs, but neither the no-name brand I found at Meijer nor the Adidas I found at Sam's stack up.

At $20 per pair, I'm not replacing all my underwear, but two pairs is totally worth it to me.

There might be other brands that are better or are equivalent at a lower price, but these were such a step up from what I had been wearing that I have no complaints, even at the price.

I got a couple of pairs of Lu Lu Lemon briefs for Christmas. I know, kinda gay, but they are so much much more comfortable than the Champion and CK boxer briefs I typically where. Would never buy them for myself but happy to get them as a gift.

Ex Officio is my brand of choice.

A year ago I decided to make a full switch. Tossed out all my old undies and dropped some money on 14 of these bad boys.

I don't cheap out on underwear or socks anymore. Makes for a better day.

Been wearing Under Armour only for the last 5 years. They are anywhere from 20-25 a pair but feel great and last forever. Get the athletic boxer that has a nice vented pouch that gives us gifted guys a little more room for comfort.

Brah that's not kind of gay, that's full blown flamer gay. Don't care how comfortable they are I would never wear them. Don't tell your friends you're wearing them....ever.

LEMON PARTY - AMIRITE!!!???

any advice on the undershirt front? i'm having a hard time finding something that fits well, not overly heavy, and doesn't draw up after a time or 2 in the dryer...

I think we have a consensus but just to be sure, has anyone ever regretted buying a $20 pair of underwear?

Might be one of the best investments a guy can make. My Under Armors are 2 years old with weekly use and don't look worn much, and I figure the other brands show similar results.

People spend $60 on a video game, $40 on a bottle of wine, $6 on a pack of cigs but they wont spend $20 on their nuts. I don't get it.

12 1/2 hours in and still feeling amazing. Day 2: I wear pair #2.

Next scheduled update: Sometime in day 3, normal boxers.
Wear one pair for 3 days and report back.

Any suggestions based on the following:

  • I wear mostly undies that smash my junk because I work around teenage kids and wear shorts all day. I do not want my outline or tip visible through my shorts.
  • Smell. Cotton is the best for not leaving my junk smelling like budussy on hot days, but not very supportive.

Had great luck with jcpenny Stafford v neck tee's.

Anyone have any experience with the difference between the Deluth Free Range (cotton) and Buck Naked (nylon) boxer briefs?

I like Keen socks the best. They are might for right and left feet, like all socks should be. Last awhile, too.

Yeah that used to be my go-to undershirt, but the last couple of packs just haven't been the same quality. Same goes for their dress shirts...
