Lets talk Thursday Night Football Prospects (1 Viewer)

Instead of just limiting to Tebow discussion, how about we forecast fantasy prospects of the game in general.

For Denver, I don't see anyone worth starting.

Decker could be decent start but I would expect he would get the attention of Revis - at least part time.

Tebow has been very productive so far but he's not a bonafide must start - I think there may only be 3 of those in the league (Brady, Brees, Rodgers). Tebow is a guy that you probably start more often than not - and I think this week you should look elsewhere - but I will be rooting for him.

For the Jets, I think there are some of prospects.

Greene - I think this is his week. I know others have been stating he has been the goal line back but that is not what I have seen recently. With LT out, I think he is definitely the goal line guy and should get 1 TD - maybe more. I think Rex would be ecstatic to push Greene to over 100 yards and 2 TDs.

I think Sanchez is a decent start as well. Should come out with 200 yards and 1-2 tds - I am leaning 1.

Holmes-Burress-Baker - probably one decent start here that depends on who gets the TD. I will go with Homes.

Throw in the kicker and the defense as good starts as well

I'd like to see what, if anything, Jeremiah Johnson and Bilal Powell can do with a few touches.

Starting Holmes in a league where I don't have a real legit alternative option but I kind of think he is going to "VJAX" me tonight.

Really worried that this becomes one of those "air out of the BALL" games (pun intended) where both the Broncos and Jets attempt to run a lot; taking the big play out of the passing attack for both teams.

By the 4th quarter, I can't really see the Jets needing to throw anymore. A desperate owner might get some Joe McKnight productivity tonight.

I don't think starting Holmes in this 1 is a good idea. I am rolling with Cruz over him FWIW.

i'm hoping for another 30 carries from Ball.
If McGahee doesn't play, I'll be rolling with Ball. The Broncos won't attempt more than 20 passes in the game.
When are we going to have more solid info on which of Ball & McGahee will play more?
McGahee is a game time decision. If he plays, not sure if anyone can predict the split.
May as well just start Ball then.

My opponent is starting the Broncos FB Larsen in a fairly important game and he's a decent owner. What am I missing?

He's listed as LB/RB in ESPN leagues. Do you play with IDP? That is definitely a sneaky sneaky play if you do.
Nope, he's in a RB slot. The most points he's had in a game is 2.7. But it's freaking me the frig out. What's the angle? LMAO.

This is going to be every bit as bad as the JAX/BAL game on MNF.

I don't feel any remorse for having to be at work tonight.

Maybe his angle is to "freak you the frig out". :shrug:Looks like he's already won.

What are his other options? Perhaps he's hoping for a short TD--Larsen did get 5 carries last week, so it's possible. Larsen also got some love in the passing game earlier in the season, so maybe he's hoping for a short pass or two inside the 20 that Larsen takes to the house... Who knows, but again, I have to assume he's hoping for a short TD on the ground or through the air, with anything else being gravy.

With LT out of the lineup, I could see Joe McKnight having some value, especially in PPR leagues. I have to think he gets the 3rd down/change of pace carries that LT was getting (maybe slightly less).

I'm going with the Jets D in one league and Ball in another. I figure Denver is going to either come out running it all night...or they're not.

Due to injury/byes I am starting McKnight it seems tonight in a key PPR. I also have JJohnson, Powell, JRodgers, and JJonesGB but I think he's got the best chance to get maybe 5 receptions, 60 combined yards, and a chance to score which is good enough to get me past this week.

Of the others Johnson has sneaky upside if he gets 15+ touches and if McGahee ends up out who knows ... but McKnight is probably the right call. Johnson COULD go nuts with a few receptions, 100+ yards, and a TD but his floor is MUCH lower.

I can't see Powell as the right call AT ALL until he shows something. It'll take injury or blowout for him to get enough touches.

Rodgers is tempting but this seems like a Turner kind of game for 120-2 than one they'll be in hurry-up mode.

The McKnight's probable floor is probably James Jones ceiling (in a PPR) so he can't be the call.

For those that care (most don't) I am also starting Kevin Smith in that same PPR league ... as I battle for first place (tough week). I suppose I could also go Johnson over Smith but again I see more chance at an 11 point PPR floor (5 receptions, 60 combined yards) with upside for more from Smith taking the job from Morris as they try to establish the run down the stretch.

My opponent has Burress so I'll be hoping for a quiet week although with Champ on Holmes I'm a bit nervous.

For another league, also a PPR ... I am going Starks over Holmes who likely draws Champ. Seems like a no-brainer given Starks matchup for upside and floor.

And, if your league uses return yards, he might get the punt return job with Kerley dinged, on top of the kick return job........there should be MANY more punt return opportunities than kickoff returns.

The Tebow is the difference. Bring up the gametracker on CBS Sportsline and just read the scrolling comments section.

I have to hope against hope that Decker does something with Green and Julio Jones very questionable I can't wait I have to start Decker and pray otherwise I could get a zero at WR 3 this week.

I think Denver is gonna switch things up and have Tebow throw 20-30 times, mostly on dumpoff passes to whoever is healthy enough to play RB.

As much as I hate to say negative things about my Broncos, the only real stars tonight will probably be the punters.

Due to injuries, I am rolling with Ball tonight hoping for a 50-60 yard--1 TD type perfomance.

This will be a defensive struggle and I won't be surprised to see Sanchez throw alot of short routes to his RB/TE to stop the Denver pass-rush.

Who knows who does well in this one...

I will say one thing from watching every game Tebow played in this offense in college - everyone is getting suckered in to doubting the offense the same way people did when he played it in college.

No one criticizes the Steelers when they run the ball. Traditionally, running the ball is good. The spread option is a run based offense. It shortens the game, keeps your defense fresh, grinds on the opponent and lulls their pass defense to sleep. You only add a few wrinkles each week to the pass offense that the opposing defense has never seen. Those are the big plays. Not to mention Tebow can carry the ball 15-20 times in any given week. That hasn't happened yet and will blow peoples minds when he goes for 100+ yards in a game. Last week was basically vanilla.

Tebow knows alot of wrinkles in this offense. Plenty of speed with Decker. I would say if there is a new wrinkle this week, it probably involves Decker in the "Percy Harvin" role. But the Broncos will need to hit on those plays. Either that or expect Tebow to run like a fullback alot.

If the Broncos can keep the Jets off the field, with the home field advantage of mile high making it hard on the Jets offense and the control game keeping Jets offense from having many opportunities, I think this could turn in the Broncos favor again. Lack of oxygen + getting run on = winded Jets defense.

Players to start if the Broncos win: Tebow, Decker. Jets: Folk

Players to start if the Jets win: Sanchez, maybe Burress. Broncos: Tebow

Jets will smack down Denver.

NYJ - 38

Den - 13

Greene goes off for 128 2 TD's

Def Int TD

Sanchez 263 yds, 2 TD's

Sneak play....Keller. Bailey will blanket Holmes, Burress will be winded. Pat Turner will be on the sidelines.

Keller - 8 rec, 107 yds 2 TD's

ETA: Tebow gets throttled by Wilkerson on an option play and gets concussed.
