Oh good. Another LHUCKS thread about LHUCKS, in which he says he likes contrary views and then takes umbrage at contrary views.
And people wonder why I don't take a couple of hours out of my day to put together my rankings in a post. We all have busy lives...I'm in over 10 money leagues this year, not to mention some of the FBG-related leagues and other leagues that I've been helping friends/family/co-workers out with. All in all I've probably been in about 30 drafts in the past four weeks. After the negative responses from a select-few, this became low on the priority list.My apologies to those of you that were expecting me to post these. If you haven't drafted yet, go ahead and PM me and I'll get them to you in the next couple of days via PM. I don't have time to customize them to your format, but you can go ahead and send the format if you want...and I'll try to get to it, but no promises. CheersLHUCKS

LHUCKS how difficult is it to copy/paste these rankings/projections?You have spent a good ammount of time this off season critiquing FBGs rankings and projections as well as others. Then you made this offer to provide your rankings/projections for others to scruitinise yet now you have no time for this?I am genuinly interested in seeing them and how different from other peoples they might actualy be.I also think a discussion of mitigating risk and how you impliment this into your rankings/projections could be interesting and constuctive regardless of how late in the season it is now.

A) It is not that it is "difficult" for me to put out the rankings, it is that it is time consuming. I have rankings for very specific formats, but not vanilla rankings. I'm not going to put out crap...if I do it, it will be well-thought out and precise. Just over this past weekend, news on players such as Morris, Putzier etc....requires tweeks. B) The discussion on mitigating risk will probably have to wait until my fantasy football life slows down. To initiate that discussion it is best to catch me here on the boards from March-July. Now that I'm managing several ff teams on top of drafting in other leagues, I simply don't have enough time for extended ff conversation on philosophy/strategy etc.C) I will do my very best to put out my rankings becasue you're right, I have openly critiqued many peoples drafts and rankings. On the other hand, I've been in several FBG Invitational Drafts....everybody has had the opportunity to critique them so it is not as if they haven't had the opportunity to do the same...that is definitely a two-way street. It is interesting how nobody goes there.I'll tell you what Biabreakable, give me the following information and I promise my rankings by Thursday.- Roster Size- # of teams in league- Starting Lineup Requirements- Scoring Format- #of teams in league that make playoffs...first round playoff byes?- Payout Schedule- % of sharks in leagueGive me that information and I'll give you the best rankings you'll see anywhere before the season opener this Thursday :football:

Same scoring rules used by David Dodds for his projections. 12 team league.1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1K 1D/ST I prefer IDP but am more interested in what is a common alignment for discussion.I prefer 4 out of 12 making the playoffs in week 15 after 14 weeks of play.Payout split between league champion and total points leader 60/40.100% Sharks well not including you. The object is to defeat them.I understand fully about right now being a time to be a sponge rather than putting out more predictions. I just wanted to see the bottom line for comparison/contrast with Dodds other staff projections ect. Then next offseason we can begin discussing again which methodologies reasoning worked better than others and hopefully collectivly learn from that so as to be even better in 2005.

OK, given the parameters set by Biabreakable...I will also add that the total # of roster players allowed = 20.

LHucks, I was writing this in the other thread that was deleted, but just wanted to finish a thought. It's pointless to quibble too dramatically over players at this juncture, we're barely past the quarter pole, it's no longer early, but its not exactly late. But to be frank, I see one very astute pick in the 80 you list, and that was your realtive downgrade of Portis. I know many to most were high on him as a potential top 3 and at minimum top 5 pick, but you had him at the 8 slot. Good pick on the early results. But you call people sheep and you proclaim to be all about the "proven results"(your reasoning against being for C.Brown) but you rank Barlow 10th. I had Barlow at 23 on my board(which I have not archieved here) but I don't consider myself a genius. I got one right. But ranking Barlow that high was entirely sheep mentality. Again, it's not a dig on you, we can all get swept up in things. I took William Green in all my leagues last year and took a bath on that SOB. I also took Chad Johnson in the 6th or later in those leagues. We'll all draft some busts, we'll all draft some baragains, and at the end of the day, week to week, player to player, it's more luck than we like to admit in these parts. If you really believe you are that much smarter than the rest at this, than more power to you. But I think the evidence suggests you're at a level with some of the more on the ball posters on this board(which I presumptively consider myself to be one of)All in all, this is such a moronic thing to argue about anyway. There is no personal stake here, it's not like we can will or pick these guys to do more or less. One obscure Guard goes down for a team out west and an RB's stats might drop dramatically. One girlfriend cheats on a RB and his focus isn't there. You're trying to predict what other people can do and there's too much variation involved to think all that much skill is involved. Yes, skill will put you ahead of much of your league, but the "guppies" that took McNabb in the 2nd and Curtis in the 3rd are sitting pretty right now and it's as simple as that.

Lucks, there's really nothing special to see here in these rankings. More bad calls then good, of course it's still early and you can root for injuries.
