Lincoln hopes to emancipate Pirates (1 Viewer)

if your pitching is VERY good, i think you can afford to pass.

who is your worst pitcher? i think in a mixed league i would be hard-pressed to find room for anyone other than Dotel on my team.

the pirates minor league starter to own by the way is bryan morris. just got promoted to AA Altoona.
Long term, probably true if he can stay healthy. He was filthy in high A before his promotion, but he'll have to be dominant in AA to even reach Indianapolis this year.If he stays healthy for all of 2010, he'll be a factor in 2011.I don't see Lincoln as anything but a #3 starter with the upside of a #2 if his fastball command improves a bit more. However, as the Pirates offense improves over the next 4 months - and I expect it to as guys like Tabata and Alvarez are called up and guys who don't pick it up (I'm looking at you, Clement) are relegated to the bench - Pirates pitchers will start getting more consistent run support.Lincoln reportedly is still a little ways away from a promotion. He'll have to keep this up for a few more weeks before they strongly consider bringing him into the rotation.

According to Dejean's chat today, Tabata and Alvarez are not even being discussed for a promotion yet. What you see is what you get.

I know... it won't be immediately, but it'll be before the end of this year that both of them reach the major leagues. Right now, they're still sorting things out with Iwamura, Laroche, Jones, Clement, Church....

yeah, i hear you. they need iwamura to do something to make him tradeable. they need church to just be OK so they can swap him for a low prospect. laroche goes to 2nd, alvarez plays 3rd. between milledge, jones, tabata and clement, you fill 3 positions with 4 bodies. none are everyday must starts right now, but tabata is probably the closest of the bunch.i refuse to give up on clement or morton. it takes time for players to develop.
