RULES SUMMARY

Format

Serpentine draft with players from both AL & NL leagues

Players

5 offensive players (any position)

3 starting pitchers

2 closers

Categories

Basic 8 plus K’s and Runs (a 5X5 format)

Moves

Add FAs only if players are on official MLB DL, are suspended, get sent to minors, on bereavement, etc. Drop players only when DLed players come off DL. Additionally, teams are granted TWO "free passes" that can be used to make discretionary, unrestricted FA moves. Reserve Moves as described in above rule change proposal. Also, if a RES player is promoted to the active roster to replace a DLed player, and the DLed player is subsequently activated from the DL by a MLB team, the owner must decide which of the two players is returned to the RES squad.

I'm not sure I read your long and complicated post correctly but I think you're better off chasing a SV or two. There's a three way tie in that category so you're talking about a two point swing. The impact of a single RP is also potentially greater since most teams only have 2-3 players contributing to the category.

Of course I could be wrong because of lack of familiarity with your league rules.

Sorry about the long detailed post, just wanted to list anything that may help in evaluating the situation.You're right. Every team can start 3 SP's and 2 RP's.By picking up one of these guys I can squeeze in a 3rd RP (becasue SP eligible) for 4 games.My thought was that this would only effect 1 category (Saves) as the other 4 pitching are just about set. If I can pick up a guy that can hit 2-3 HR's more than one of my slumping guys that may help in HR, RBI, R which are closer. With the season winding down, just don't know who would be a good bat to pick up for the last 4 games and how much better they'd be than what I have.Any suggestions for a hot bat for the last 4 games if I went that route?
