**Lions at Saints** (+4, 47) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn played with Dennis Allen at Texas A&M, who in turn was in his final year when Dan Campbell was a freshman. The three of them were on the same staff under Sean Payton 2016-20.

Team Captain and defensive signal caller Alex Anzalone (hand) did not travel. Rookie LB Jack Campbell will wear the green dot helmet for the first time. LG Jonah Jackson is expected to return to the lineup. Four Saints (LB Pete Werner, S Marcus Maye, WR Rashid Shaheed, RB Kendre Miller) have been declared out, and DE Cam Jordan - who has missed one game in 13 years - is a GTD. It is being widely reported WR Chris Olave is expected to clear the concussion protocol and will play today.

The Saints have lost two straight on the road. Last week in Atlanta they were 0-5 in Red Zone. Their next three games are at home.

The Lions have not lost back to back games all year, but the defense has been near the bottom in the league since Week 7. Jared Goff is coming off his two worst games, 3 INT v Chicago and 3 lost fumbles v Green Bay, both at home.

The Saints have generated 20 turnovers (T-4th), while the Lions have only 12 takeaways (T-26th.)

With a win Detroit will push it's NFC North lead to 3 games with 5 to play. With a loss the Vikings and Packers - who both also have a shot at the Wild Card - will be right back in the race for the division crown. The Lions have not won their division in 30 years, and securing a home playoff game is widely viewed as the minimum standard for a successful third year for this regime.

I have no shares of any assets on DET, but do own Shaheed on all three of my teams & the Saints DEF/ST on two of three. In my leagues we got rid of the shutout bonus & in its place added the return game. Meaning, points allowed doesn't factor at all & this isn't a bad spot for them. Units tend to score more but I have that DEF/ST benched today in both leagues. Recall those "reports" earlier in the season, suggesting Olave wasn't finishing his routes. I felt the evidence supporting those claims to be junk! A common narrative iIn the mainstream is that Taysom Hill & Juwan Johnson are going to key players for them. Makes sense. I wasn't aware that the Lions had lost two in a row at home but I still believe they're a very good team & I like them to right the ship today.

Feel like Campbell is going to want to ground and pound today after seeing Goff and his turnover fest lately. NO's D pretty good at generating TOs too. Feel like both Monty and Gibbs eat here.

Is DET's pass D really this bad? QBs of all kinds have had nice games. Hell, even B. Young had three TD passes. Maybe NO at home plays a spirited game here and keeps it close. Olave expected to play. Carr kind of a bum, but he's due to play more solidly I'd think.

Think DET takes it, but maybe has to sweat out a NO comeback.

Lions trying to rebound from a stinker on Turkey Day.
Saints D should be tough at home.
Lions D has been suspect lately.

Should be an offensive feast. A great day to play a parlay for all the overs....score, passing yards, rushing yards.

Of course Gibbs breaks long run can't score and Montgomery gets the TD so aggravating

Carr is just a loser...wonder if they cut him
Not sure he has any blame for this 14-0 deficit but yeah he's not good. He was bad last year and it was all right there for all to see. This is on the Saints front office for thinking he was the answer at QB.

it wasn't him in particular in that instant but the flip side is it's the kind of play that constantly happens when he is around.
