Lions may trade Roy Williams? (1 Viewer)

I'm not trading a top-3 return man and top-3 corner for any receiver. Ever.
Pac Man may be the third best return man (Hester, Cribbs) but there's no way he's a top 3 corner.
Bailey and...?ETA: I see there are two posters who dispute PacMan as a top-3 corner. I'll grant that Bailey is clearly the best, but after that the conversation is VERY muddied. At worst, he's a top-10 guy. I think he's a top-3 guy who improved dramatically b/w year 1 and year 2. At the end of last year, he was every bit a top-3 corner in the league.
Cornerbacks better than Pac Man Jones (in alphabetical order by last name)Asomugha, NnamdiBailey, ChampBodden, LeighClements, NateCromartie, AntonioHarris, AlMarshall, RichardMathis, RasheanNewman, TerenceSamuel, AsanteTrufant, MarcusWinfield, AntoineWoodson, Charles
Unreal. Charles Tillman gets no respect.

Pacman for Roy straight up.I'm down with that.
That would work.So the Titans can trade for Javon Walker, Chad Johnson, or Roy Williams. Off hand, if PacMan is the trade bait (and he should be), the Lions need him the most, so that seems the most likely deal.
I'll bet my house that the Bengals don't trade for Pacman.

Sure. Include Tillman too. I just browsed through the list.Talentwise, I wouldn't take DeAngelo Hall before Pac Man. But considering the total package I would.

This can't be a serious post...
See, I think talentwise, they are almost identical. But I agree with what Colin is getting at I guess, that they are both jerkoffs.
but of course Pacman being much, much worse.Pacman might have talent, but considering his history...the Titans would be lucky to get a 3rd rounder for him

I believe Williams is going to be used as trade bait leading up to the draft because he'll likely bolt when he becomes a free agent in 2009. Johnson should have a standout season because he'll no longer be dealing with the pain in his back and that pain in his neck, Detroit's complicated offense, also will be gone. Ellis will get a chance to win the No. 5 receiver spot by showing some flashes in the kick return game.
I'd like to share the optimism of Tom K. but who is the QB again???? One can only hope that with Martz gone, Kitna will be allowed to play like Kitna, not what Martz 'thinks' he can be. THEN, maybe CJ will have a good year. Then again, he is still kitna.
Yeah, Kitna can go back to being Kitna, a guy with average talent who will never get you more than 8 wins in a season. In my opinion, Kitna and Martz weren't the problem. The Lions defense was a piece of crap. The head coach is getting no abuse over how horrible the defense was

when he was the guy who was supposed to come in there and turn it around. The Detroit offense wasnt the problem. The defense couldnt stop anyone when they needed to.

The blame should go to the GM, not the coach. The personnel that the Lions have on defense is beyond pathetic, especially in the secondary, and Millen did very little to address that last offseason.Marinelli deserves an award for winning 7 games with a Millen-constructed team. Sadly, I think it's a feat that will never be topped.

More trouble for Pac Man.From PFT
NEW TROUBLE FOR PACMANWSB-TV in Atlanta reports that Titans cornerback Pacman Jones allegedly punched a woman on January 3 in a North Atlanta strip club. And the woman whom he punched is a lawyer. The incident allegedly happened on January 3. The lawyer, Wanda Jackson, alleges that Jones entered a manager's office, accusing the club among other things of stealing money from him. She says that, during the meeting, Jones lunged at her several times. She also alleges that, in a hallway after the meeting, he reached around a security guard and punched her.Though the report isn't clear on this point, it appears that a warrant has been issued for Jones' arrest, and that he's due in Court on February 8. The incident could result in a claim that he has violated his probation in Nevada stemming from the infamous Las Vegas strip club "Make It Rain"/"Make It Hail . . . Bullets" incident from February 2007.Most importantly, it likely puts Jones back in the cross-hairs of Commissioner Roger Goodell. Though Jones has been cleared to re-join the Titans for offseason activities beginning in March, the league could look to swiftly impose further discipline on Jones as a result of these new allegations. As we've said all along, if Jones can't stay out of trouble when he has a job, he surely won't be able to stay out of trouble when he doesn't have a job.Maybe when the former WVU star gets suspended the next time he'll make good on his promise to return to school to get his degree . . . in Michigan.

 at folks who wouldn't want DeAngelo Hall over Pacman Jones. Pacman Jones is in whole different category of stupid. I guess he will have to actually kill a few folks for people to see that this clown is in a league of his own.

Odessa Texas,Longhorn....Cowboy. Take it to the bank.
How would the team distinguish the jersey from the horse collar Roy Williams?
Very good point. Not out of this world trade since the Cow Girls have two 1st rounders and need a WR as TO and Glenn are old. Not sure about their cap room however.
I'm sure they could somehow, I just didn't know how they could. IMO they should trade a first for a WR though, drafting one usually means you have to wait a while before they can contribute.

I dont think the Lions trade Roy.

But I have herd in town that Niether Roy or KJones want to be franchised after next season and watn to leave town. Cant say I blame them

You know, I read this thread right before going to bed last night, and I was thinking, "Wow, Pacman sure has gone a long time without getting in trouble with the law. Maybe he finally is getting his life turned around."

I would love for Roy to end up in San Francisco, to reunite him with OC Martz. Unless there's bad history there that I don't know about.

How about we trade the Cowboys 2nd #1 and Bradie James for Roy and Rogers and just call it a day. Now if we can just get the Tuna to give us something for Carpenter........

I could definitely see Dallas giving up a #1 for him. Terry Glenn is almost certainly gone. They need a deep threat. They have $20 mil of cap room and 2 first round picks. Think an offense with TO, Williams, Witten, Barber and an above-average O-line could cause some defenses trouble? And Dallas would still have another 1st rounder to get the CB they need.

When will the Lions Learn? That Organization is a total mess. The fact that nothing was learned during the Barry Sanders retirement is a shame. Why not spend some time/money whatever is needed to make the organization a place that players want to go. Bly wanted out and is gone.Roy wants out and might be gone.K.Jones already saying he cant wait to move on.Once Ernie Sims leaves...Hello 1-15.
I thought the key to success in the NFL was drafting WR's and then trading them before they finish their rookie contract. At least that what it says in my book "Winning the Detroit Way".

The cap hit for the Roy Williams from Dallas is $6.6 million. So....not likely to happen just to acquire the Det WR. I'm not even sure he is the best compliment to TO. I see RWhaving a similar style to TO. The need imo...is for a speed WR to stretch the field for the Cowboys.
