Lions stare 0-16 right in the face (3 Viewers)

git yer roll on!!!!

(downhill)

I think marinelli and detroit has some martz ### it should be kissing about now.

Looking at their schedule, there isn't a game that they should win. That being said, I think they will win one, I just have no idea when it will occur. They should come out and play with a lot of pride on Thanksgiving, and let's face it, I don't think having a short week will hurt them as much as the Titans. Plus, the Titans could be 11-0, and the pressure will start to mount on them. It's hard not to look past a team this bad. (If the Titans lose this week against the Jets, the Lions will have a really bad Thanksgiving.)

The rest of the schedule is bad too. They beat Tampa Bay last year, so I don't think they'll do it again this year. Minnesota will need the game badly, so they should be smart and just feed it to ADP, I'm thinking he's good for 175+ and 2 TDs. Indy is starting to play better, and can't afford to lose any more games, so I think they'll roll over the Lions. The Saints could be out of the playoffs by then, so that is another possibility. And there's no way they go into Lambeau and beat the Packers, they haven't done that in 17 years (I think).

So that leaves the best chances as the Titans and Saints, and I'm going with the Lions over the Titans.

I'll put my money on Minnesota @ home. I could see Childress losing that one. Detroit kept it close last time.
:lmao: Vikes are 1-4 on the road and could be without Pat and Kevin Williams. The Lions nearly beat Minnesota on the road. Of course Adrian could run for 300 against them and that could change things.

I could see the Lions getting their only win against the Vikings. Culpepper will be hungry that game.

Really? You pick the winless team to beat the undefeated one? That takes some cahones....
Don't get me wrong, I don't think the Lions are better than the Titans at any phase of the game (except losing). But I also think that with having a short week and the pressure of possibly being undefeated still, I think that is worse for Tennessee than it is for Detroit. Plus, maybe the Lions play with a little pride since its Thanksgiving. If the Titans play well, they'll bury them. My point was that this is a "trap" game for the Titans, and the Lions are just trying to avoid going down in history. Would I put money on it? Never. How ironic would this be: the first Thanksgiving Day blackout (for as long as I can remember), and the winless Lions beat the undefeated Titans for their only win for the year? I wish that they would lose all 16, but being a long-suffering Lions fan, I've come to expect them to screw that up too. There have been several seasons where they've been the worst team, only to win a game or two, just enough to move down a couple of draft spots. I wish that the Fords would sell the Lions to someone wants to win, and who knows how to find good people.

Thanks Ford for raising tickets $20 across the board and giving your fans a #### team and blackouts all year.

It does, and while i won't predict it, i am officially hoping that winless beats undeafeated onn otherwise uninspring Thanksgivng Day football afternoon (Cards @ eagles that night is pretty good).

If they are blacked out on Thanksgiving then HA HA. Usually Ford or other large companies buy up the tickets for that game, which is getting harder to sell anyway. This year with the big three begging on Capitol Hill there is no way they waste money on tickets no one will use.

There are less than 1000 tickets available. The game will not be blacked out.

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. A guy in my office swears Detroit isn't as bad as thier record indicates. We have 3-1 odds on the Titans/Lions. If I win, I get a week of free lunches. If he wins I owe him 3.

My take on the rest of the season:

11/23 vs. TB No

11/27 vs. Tennessee Heck no. They'll wish they had Madden to talk about the Terducken.

12/7 vs. Minnesota Nope

12/14 @ Indy A month ago, I'd have said yes. Now? Not so much...

12/21 vs. New Orleans They're best shot.

12/28 @ Green Bay Nope.
The way the NFC North is shaping up, both GB & Minn are going to need to beat Det to win the division as it may be their only shot to get in the playoffs. The same thing in the NFC South with TB & NO. However, if NO falls off the pace then they could be had. That's why I'd say NO is Detroit's best shot for a win.

My order of possible victory:TBMINNOTENINDGBIf they are still winless after week 14 (MIN), they are a lock for 0-16 IMO.
I would put the order as:TEN (trap game for TEN) - there are always surprise games, what could be a bigger surprise?NO - they could be out of itMIN - If they don't feed ADP TB - very unlikely as they need this gameNo chance: IND and GBI don't think they're a lock for 0-16 until after the NO game. If I was going to put money on it now, I'd put money on 0-16, as it is a safer bet than picking out which game they win.

Now that Tennessee has lost, I must amend my prediction. The Lions have no chance to beat the Titans now. I think their only hope may be the Saints.

17 pt lead blown and lose by 18................WOW

Next up..............Turkey Day with a mad Titan team coming in.

I just hope at the end of the year they trade for a seasoned QB and dont use the #1 overall for someone in this class. Should be a nice OT early in the draft this team can build around.

I'm sorry Detroit fans. This has to be miserable.
The last seven years have been miserable, this is just the culmination.
CULMINATION! You don't score until you score. UNTIL YOU SCORE! </american pie>I feel sorry for my friends that upgraded their season tickets this year. They couldn't even get me to go for free today.
I'm glad you put that in there, because that's exactly what I had in mind when I wrote it!

So glad I gave up my season tickets 4 years ago. Three of my friends still have them and go down there for every game. Thank god for fantasy football, dopnt know what I would do if all I had was the lions every sunday.

0-16 here we come.

Everybody knows their first overall pick will be Michael Crabtree regardless of their needs. It's in their DNA, they need to take a WR with their #1 draft pick.

I believe this has become the lamest and most overused attempt at humor/sarcasm on this forum.

Maybe it's not humor/sarcasm...I know I wouldnt be surprised if they did draft Crabtree.

Maybe Cassell in the FA and a nice OT with the 1st overall.
Cassell will not be successfull in Detroit. He looks great in NE with talent surrounding him, and a great coaching staff. Two key things the Lions do not have, and will not have anytime soon.

They traded away Roy in part because it is not smart to have 2 high dollar WR's. It won't be Crabtree. What I have seen of Crab he does not look that impressive anyway.

I was at the game yesterday and I have to say megatron looks like the real deal. However, the rest of the team is just...wow. The Bucs served the game up to the Lions on a silver platter a couple of times, but still won easily. Of course it didn't help that the reffing was really lopsided in favour of the Bucs...and I'm a Bucs homer. But, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Lions don't win a game this year. I don't see how they can win, really. Aside from 81, they just don't have any real playmakers. Kevin Smith made a couple of nice runs I guess...

I think they traded Roy away so that they can draft 3 Wrs with the picks the Cowboys gave them (I mean, they net 2 WRs in the deal if it works like that).

Did you think of that all by yourself. You are a football genius

0-16 Etch it in stone.

Culpepper should have stayed retired, the guy still can`t read a defense, and his arm lacks the snap it had early in his career.

Drew Stanton is already hurt again after taking a few snaps.

So going into next season along with every other need the Lions also need maybe two QBs. It is not pretty.

Any reason to think Kitna will still be rostered next year? Just not sure he is worth holding on to in Dynasty anymore.
