Friday and Saturday were much better than Sunday. Sunday was not good.
on the money. this was a nice experience, a one-time deal. i'd almost prefer they not tour more because that would seem to cheapen the specialness of the last week. personally, i don't think they're fit enough to tour nor do they have it nailed down. phil can't sing worth a damn. bob seemed kind of pissed off much of the time. bruce should sing WAY more of the catalog, trey has to get back to phish. the whole thing smelled like a big cash grab (which i didnt mind but wouldn't participate in in any sort of routine way via touring). all the nuances and shortcomings were harmless, even funny, but if you're going to tour, then you gotta iron that #### out.definitely not for me. it was a nice thing to experience as they were played, but nothing really that will hold up all that well out of that context, imo. though trey's stella solo is something everybody who ever loved the gd needs to hear.
that's funny because the jocks on Sirius XM were talking like God himself had touched themFriday and Saturday were much better than Sunday. Sunday was not good.

Unbelievable that there was no SugareeAs setlists go, each show was pretty much spectacular.
complaints are minimal, but how something like West LA Fadeaway makes the cut but not Ramble on Rose is odd to me.As setlists go, each show was pretty much spectacular.
Damn good callUnbelievable that there was no SugareeAs setlists go, each show was pretty much spectacular.
Yep. First song I heard after Jerry died. Special one.Damn good callUnbelievable that there was no SugareeAs setlists go, each show was pretty much spectacular.
The Built To last was executed beautifully. But so was JFK's assassination.
yes and it was not goodThe did play "I'm a Little Red Rockstar - to lazy to play a different tune"
Do you really think the available seating for a Bears game is going to be the same as it is for a concert?Grateful Dead Break Soldier Field Records
The previous record was held by U2’s “360°” tour in 2009, which drew an audience of 67,936. The first night of the Grateful Dead’s three-day stay on Friday drew 70,764 audience members. The Saturday show eclipsed that figure, drawing 70,844 fans.

I did some summer runs in 81-83 where it seemed like this was played nearly every other night. You could here a collective ugh when they cranked it up.yes and it was not goodThe did play "I'm a Little Red Rockstar - to lazy to play a different tune"
how do you download them? All the shows still up on soundcloud for streaming or download. Looks like they are pulling some of the others so save these soon if you want them
they could charge a ton of money for seats that were literally on the field. who wouldn't want to get run over by Matt Forte or inadvertently sack Jay Cutler?Do you really think the available seating for a Bears game is going to be the same as it is for a concert?the grateful dead, more popular than the NFL?

It was the last. And the cheapest (being the only standalone show). Was Sunday the best? You can get the Sunday show separately.
) which could send out a 32 foot standing wave for low frequencies, maybe not unlike the largest pipes on a church or concert organ, Phil's starship deck complex bass multi-controls, etc.I think it's like the 4th option to the right of the track listing.how do you download them? All the shows still up on soundcloud for streaming or download. Jerry referred to him as the patron saint of the gd. he supported them early on and was even in charge of what they ate for awhile. he had them all living entirely on red meat. nothing else. i forget the story on why that was, but it was definitely funny.Owsley, in addition to being a recreational chemist (I think Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan was referencing him) and designing the logo, had a keen interest in audiophile sound for arena/stadium settings. His impetus blossomed into Alembic R & D and many tangible sonic/acoustic payoffs. The Wall of Sound itself (hundreds of speakers driven by 50+ amps was so powerful it only needed to be turned to 2 - Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap would be apoplectic!) which could send out a 32 foot standing wave for low frequencies, maybe not unlike the largest pipes on a church or concert organ, Phil's starship deck complex bass multi-controls, etc.

and he wouldn't let them eat vegetables. As far as diet, I think he anticipated one of the linchpins of the Atkins diet (by decades?), that carbs could lead to excess insulin production, which in turn had negative systemic repercussions health-wise.

I didn't understand that last word).and he wouldn't let them eat vegetables. As far as diet, I think he anticipated one of the linchpins of the Atkins diet (by decades?), that carbs could lead to excess insulin production, which in turn had negative systemic repercussions health-wise.![]()

and yeah, was for all intents and purposes the leading edge of live concert sound at the time and the man who made much of the acid that powered the 60s.
The NFL will go. It will vanish and shrink. I don’t know what will go first, rock ‘n’ roll or The NFL. The Grateful Dead are more popular than The NFL now. The NFL was all right, but it's fans were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for meLimp Ditka said:I'll take that as a 'yes'grateful zed said:ok, ill revise, more popular than the chicago bears?Limp Ditka said:Do you really think the available seating for a Bears game is going to be the same as it is for a concert?grateful zed said:Grateful Dead Break Soldier Field Records

Who was gonna sing that? I'm happy they didn't try it. Ramble on Rose would have been cool with the two drummers.Smack Tripper said:Damn good callffldrew said:Unbelievable that there was no SugareeSandeman said:As setlists go, each show was pretty much spectacular.

Cheers for the photo show.Country Boys said:WHat are they doing on stage that is inciting the cheers?
Several good titles that were a no show...could have put together another night easily. Dire Wolf, Candyman, Cosmic Charlie, Dupree's Diamond Blues, High Time, Operator, Comes a Time, Black Muddy River, My Brother Esau, We Can Run But We Can't Hide...are a few I enjoy off the top of my head in addition to Sugaree and Ramble on Rose that were not played. The body of work is so vast.Who was gonna sing that? I'm happy they didn't try it. don't forget Jack-a-roe, Cold rain and snow. Throw a Werewolves encore in there for the hell of it.Several good titles that were a no show...could have put together another night easily.
