The free Amex MSG show on 11/7 has a soundboard quality recording floating around. That was a vg set that night imo.I'm game to give this a try. My first attempt lasted 3 songs and quite honestly I found it really boring. But that's a short segment and will entertain the thought that I timed it bad.
So what set played so far is the one people are liking the most?
Checking out set two now, it definitely has more energy from what I heard previously. The free Amex MSG show on 11/7 has a soundboard quality recording floating around. https://archive.org/details/etreeHas anyone come across ANY good sounding AUD's or a soundboard from these first few shows? I need something!
I get they probably want to make sure it's great and maybe it's taking awhile to get submissions that are worthy, but it seems like it's been years of talking about it at this point. Just release the damn thing already. Will say the talk about the new record is really encouraging. I'm more psyched for that.Anybody else excited about this?
About Mayer being a tool. Who really cares? He is respecting Bob, the Devils, and especially the legacy. He put in a ton of time ahead of this getting ready BECAUSE he respected it. The best part is he has been killing it musically, and has kept his head down while the group has pushed an impressive schedule for just starting out. I for one, really hope this keeps going and we get a summer tour. A record would be sweet also. My only complaint is I need SOUNDBOARDS!!!Checking out set two now, it definitely has more energy from what I heard previously.Could be a fun night out if expectations aren't too high. The free Amex MSG show on 11/7 has a soundboard quality recording floating around. Mayer can definitely play, if only he wasn't such a tool, it might be a little more enjoyable listening to him.
I can't hear Oteil very well and once again Chimenti is not being used enough.
LOL, that tard just discovered the Dead 4 years ago.Read a couple of Mayer's interviews relating to this tour. His reverence for them and the legacy is as great as it gets. I bet you'll change your tune on him a bit. I know I did.

I actually dig that he is new to the Dead. I remember the place my head was at when I first got into the Dead in the 80's. All I listened to was bootlegs. I was completely immersed in the music. I can only imagine that is where Mayer was/is at. That time of discovery and "newness" of the Dead catalog was a great period of my life. I envy him.LOL, that tard just discovered the Dead 4 years ago.Read a couple of Mayer's interviews relating to this tour. His reverence for them and the legacy is as great as it gets. Exactly. That "tard" comment is cringe-worthy on every level, not the least of which being how badly it misses the point he thinks he's making.I actually dig that he is new to the Dead. I flew out for the Sat. night show. Got floor and had a blast. The best post Jerry Dead band I've seen. Glad I went. Mayer was really good. The thing I like best is that he isn't just aping Jerry, but does fit in perfectly. Great guitarist. Miss Jerry's voice though. If anyone is on the fence, check this band out. I've read there were no soundboards for the tour. I have no idea why, but I don't mind audience recordings and those are out there.Did anyone go to Vegas? I periscoped last night and it was something. Anyone have ANY good sounding shows from this tour? The periscope's sound great, and then the archives suxor.
Its been tough even finding decent AUD's. Nothing out there yet from Vegas yet. I wish I had recorded the periscopes as they sounded like boards. Jeff was turned way up on Saturdays first set compared to were he has been, and he was incredible. Mayer killed it all weekend but that Ramble on Rose was tops for me. The best part is seeing Bobby all rejuvenated with this group. I need more!ericttspikes said:I flew out for the Sat. night show. Got floor and had a blast. The best post Jerry Dead band I've seen. Do you think they will do a summer tour?there is vegas stuff on youtube.
and theyre touring next year, including a date at fenway.
I'm not sure when it will be, just know that SPAC and Fenway Park are going to be stops. Figure itll be subject to Mayer's label obligations (a release and some promo??), so probably no sooner than late summer if I had to guess.Do you think they will do a summer tour?there is vegas stuff on youtube.

JM looked out of mind during set one on Saturday. He was hopping up and down at one point. I was laughing.Know nothing about his contract.
It appears Mickey and Billy are rubbing off on him.![]()

I stood right in front of Jeff, and he was great. That Ramble On Rose was so good. On the flight into Vegas I was reading "Dead Wake" about the sinking of the Lusitania, and just before I landed there was a short passage on "Billy Sunday" of all things. After all these years I had no idea that was a real guy or what he was about. I knew then I was gonna hear "Ramble On Rose". Glad I did. Brokedown was great too. I needed that one.Its been tough even finding decent AUD's. Nothing out there yet from Vegas yet. I wish I had recorded the periscopes as they sounded like boards. Nope. Top level was curtained. Place hold 16000, guessing 8-9 k there. Vegas on a holiday weekend might of been tough. That wasn't sold out? Most have been from what I have heard.

They did manage to sell out MSG 2 nights at 18,200 a pop which was impressive.Apple Jack said:And two nights in an arena. The Grateful Dead this is not.ericttspikes said:Nope. Together we are building the digital library of the future. A special place where you can go to learn and explore. The Internet Archive has only 170 staff but runs the #250 website in the world. We don’t accept ads. We don’t sell your information. But we still need to pay for servers, staff and rent. If you use the Internet Archive, we hope you’ll give what you can right now. Thank you
I can't verify this while at work as it shuts me down but try finding it here:So on 7/16/70 they did a show at Euphoria Ballroom in San Raphael CA. I have everything on my copy except the first three tunes of set one on the set list. I am missing the first Lovelight (w/o Janis), Me and My Uncle, and Cold Rain and Snow. China Cat is cut in half. Does anyone know if there is anything out there with those first three songs in existence? Maybe in the vault? This show is really good and I think the Attics and NFA are the best I have ever heard. Anyone have anything on this show? Thanks
Will be in Oakland in a week. Might have to do it.I hope everyone in here is seeing Joe Russo's Almost Dead when they come to your area. Those guys are ####### fire.
