live Grateful Dead (2 Viewers)

Never mind @shuke I just saw when it is, I wish I had my November schedule already but no such luck. I'm gonna try and hit Michigan or Ohio if we end up being in town, I'm hoping for a light ice winter in the lakes now.

I need two for Boston if anyone has any.

I got caught sleeping.  I also have pretty much all the 2016 and 2017 shows on teh loogles if anyone needs.

The 6 part Amazon Prime doc A Long Strange Trip is definitely worth watching
My biggest issue with it was that it could have been twice as long.  Particularly now that a lot of stuff is out there in Bill's book already - like Mickey's dad taking their money and him taking time off from the band, Altamont, etc.

Senator Al Franken debating specific (Althea?) versions was awesome.

Totally agree, wish it was longer.

5th episode was my favorite, talking about the tapes, lot scene, etc.

Anyone watch the free stream last night for the benefit show?  Kind of rough, but can blame the venue, sound, crowd, restricted time, etc.

At one point Bob threw his hands up at John and Oteil started laughing his ### off.

Rancid killed it!  Great show and looking forward to Sunday.

On a side note, RFK July 89 came out and is on the google play.  I don't lobe those set lists but I'll check it tonight.

I have been on a Europe 72 kick for the last month.  It's finally growing on me after all these years.

That was a fun night.  The amazing part was how good Dead and Co. was on Sunday night at MSG. Easily one of the best shows I have ever seen.  Drums>Standing on the Moon>The Other One was epic.  Looking forward to the webcast tonight at 7:30.

Bob is a caricature at this point

Did you get tickets for Boston? I don't have two but might have one for Friday, awesome seats.

Saw Dead and Co this summer at Wrigley.  GREAT shows!  I went in with low expectations and came out a fan.  Definitely looking forward to the next Chicago shows.

Read Home For Daylight which was quick and fun - by one of the Crew

Reading Long Strange Trip which is dragging a little but, full of detail... Not even out into the 70's yet...

Saw Dead and Co on Tues - Had it's Highs and Lows - I'm not a Mayer hater but, I'm trying to compare and I felt like he was a little loud in the mix and needed a little sedative.....  Good times overall - Met Oteil before the show - awesome guy/player - He was really digging in, getting Swampy at times during show!!!!

So, far the greatest recent Dead thing I've seen is Phil Lesh and Friends.... Haven't gotten around to JRad yet but, got Tix for January Portchester...

Really diving into the Dead like never before for me... Trying to master "Eyes of the World" chord changes / soloing a bit...

BTW - for anyone with a guitar - Marty Schwartz does a great job breaking it down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vgPpVmwiLY

Anyone been following JRAD?  They have three shows coming up this weekend in New York. I have been spinning the late November shows at the Fillmore this afternoon and I'm pretty amped.  Some are on the Archive even.  Hopefully there will be some streams or scopes on Friday.

Jrad ruined Dead and co to me - they’re just so slow and lame in comparison.

Tune in 1/12, 13 + 14 to watch Joe Russo's Almost Dead live from The Capitol Theatre-->>
http://nugs.tv/

Went with a couple fellow Deadheads to see JRAD at the Fox in Oakland a few months back. We enjoyed it but agreed the show was a C+/B-.

Killer setlist though. Opened with The Eleven, which knocked us off our feet. Cats Under the Stars was a highlight.

EDIT: Damn had I'd seen the Dead play this show, I could have died right there. Smokin' setlist.

Vampire Blues by Neil Young?  If so, nice!!  I've heard of JRAD, didn't realize they were a Dead cover band.  So you guys are saying I should check them out?  Huge Dead fan here, would love to see The Eleven live.

Anyone get a presale code for tickets this morning?  I am curious what the prices are for different locations.

I got the code and am in the Live Nation website, tickets range from 49.50 to 149.50 but it doesn’t give a breakdown beyond the range. I’m looking to pick up 4 tickets in Section 1,2 or 3...I know Don is going as well and we are going to be on the phone this morning to see who gets better tix so we don’t overbuy. Not sure if he has anyone else lined up but if not certainly can put aside one for you. I’m talking to him later this morning.

I have a code also.  I would rather go with you guys if that's an option.  I assume by section 1,2 or 3 that's GA?

No, those are the lower bowl seats. It is my understanding there is a small GA pit area at the front of Section 2 only and that seats in Section 2 start at row M and end at Z. Seats in Sections 1 & 3 start at row F to Z and then AA to HH.

Don mentioned throwing it out to a couple of other folks but not sure they are going to end up pulling the trigger. To be safe, perhaps you pick up 2 tickets and you can always dump them later if it works out to sit with us. We can always go up together regardless.

Sounds like a plan. I had Fenway in my head for some reason.  I was on the rail for Arcade Fire down in the pit and its actually decent size.  Ill try and text you once I have something locked in.

I got shut out.  Could have gotten some back of the bowls but kept refreshing.  Now it says error with my search. They probably banned me. Maybe later they will let more out.  That happens sometimes.

Jrad is an uptempo fusion band that happens to play dead tunes.  And they rock.

I finally Saw JRAD last week........ Nothing but, Greatness....

So far I've really like Phil Lesh and Family Band.... And JRAD better than Dead and Co which I saw 2x

I love JRAD because of the tempo and speed all around.  I really dislike everything Phil myself.

As a Bass player I'm just absorbing everything Phil right now..... And Oteil is just a master.

That guy in JRAD..... hmmmmm, maybe seems a little overkill to me....

While I'm Here and thinking bass.....  I've been studying Phil and taking on a few songs listening to many versions to keep adding cool little Phil Licks to my repertoire

The other night I came across a video where the Bass sound was stellar - Not sure if this has been passed around before but,. I loved the whole video - I love that they messed up at one point and started over and overall the sound quality and good times they seemed to be having....

Grateful Dead - Beat Club, Bremen, West Germany, April 21 1972 (Full Performance)

Starts with a great version of Bertha, at least for my Bass takes, So Clean!!!
